The awakening

I wake up a mess. Last night shoots to my head, not the alcohol but the memories. Everything I want to forget.

Of course I'm sick it's what I expect, but the full length mirror has my reflection.

What I won't miss about being popular~ I'm no longer self obsessed, I no longer have to look like an angel, I can dress how I want.

I look like hell, but I love it. I wash and brush my teeth because even hell needs to be hygienic. I put my black tennis skirt, black sweater and boots on.

My parents are well off. My debt card is regularly topped up, I've saved a lot for university.Thats is what gets me through, at least I'm intelligent, I actually have a future. One spending session won't hurt I guess.

"Mum I'm going out," I say and smile, I'm the only one who has respect for my parents compared to the rest of them.
"On your own?"
"Yes, I have no friends,"
"Awww darling do you want to talk about it?"
"No I just know I'm better without them,"
"Aren't you dressed a little um dark for your tastes?"
"Mum, it's the new fashion," this always works
She hands me some money, "make them even more jealous then."

I quite like my own company, I stock up on some essentials and some other cute things I think I need. Some stuff people wouldn't expect me to own. I need to be surprising now.

I go to costa, get a latte, but as I walk out someone is calling my name.

"Kathleen!"
I whip my head around. Arabella is tottering towards me.
"Arabella, didn't you hear? We're no longer friends."

"Look, look. I have a message, well sorta message. From Joanna, you know if you apologise then she'll accept you back."

"What makes you think I want to apologise? I did nothing wrong," I lower my voice, "you all left me to get raped. Why should I be even associated
with you?"

"You know the deal Kathleen, you are nothing without us, something with us. I know they will terrorise you if you turn against us," she smirks a little,"besides, you aren't much anyway."

That's when hell is released. My hand is around her throat, her head against the wall. "You better tell Joanna to watch her back, there's a new bitch in town. She's more than a bitch, she's a fucking pyscho. So I'd be careful if I was you, otherwise you'll be first."

I stand in the middle of the street, I watch her run off. Clapping comes from nowhere. Mystery boy emerges from the shadows.

"Are you following me?"

"No I just happened to be in there," he points towards a record shop," I heard some raised voices and wanted to see what the deal was." He steps down "so what I've figured from what I've heard is that you were part of a group of bitches, who turned against you, and then something about you being left to get raped."

"That's when you found me. I want to get revenge on them, it's what they deserve."

"Your old friends or rapists?"

I look him dead in the eye. "All of them."

He moves closer. I stare up at his lips. "You're fucking crazy, like me. I think we'll get along well. See you on Monday."

I can't help but smile, I think I have found someone who is willing to help. Let's get sweet revenge together.
