I laugh as Sara jokingly pushes me away from her into the stucco wall. Four weeks into school, we are finally back to our old rhythm of talking like normal people, not the weirdness we text.
Sara is the much prettier version of me. Her skin is an even cream color, her eyes a pale blue, hair a shade lighter than mine, her height a couple inches shorter than my five-eight, her curves defined in the nicest way.
She is also the sweetest girl I know. Sara is selfless, even when she is struggling. Don't underestimate her though. Her sass level is outrageous, and she is a terrible flirt. Well, was. Sara is now happily in a relationship with her three year crush, Adam Hexton.
As we reach her zero period, I hug her bye. "Thanks for the ride, girlie. My dad has the early shift again, so I'll be calling on that favor some more."
"Of course, Blondie. See ya at lunch."
I nod at my best friend, watching her walk in her class before turning away to waste the next hour of my life.
As I am turning, I accidentally smack into someone. I quickly mumble an apology and back away. I glance up to assure the person I didn't mean to hit them and am met with the sight of Mr. New Guy, who is as good looking as ever. My eyes widen as I meet his, and I mumble 'sorry' once more, matching his 'sorry', just as final bell rings.
"Damn it," he mumbles in a deepish, silky yet raspy voice. With a nod my way, he slips into the classroom that Sara is in.
He is much better than most of this school's population, in terms of respect and manners. My curiosity is further piqued by the new guy. No one actually says sorry these days, and yet, he said it, although it was completely my fault. If he was polite, could he be a nice guy, too?

"What are you staring at, Blondie?"
"Wha-?" I shake my head, pulling my gaze away from the boy surrounded by a gaggle of girls. "What was that?"
She purses her lips into an adorable pout. "My best friend is so lost in her own little world that she didn't hear me say that Adam is out front with some pizza."
"Sorry... I was distracted."
She rolls her eyes and stands, motioning for me to do the same.
We walk through the outdoor lunch area and to the front of the school, where a brown haired boy with dancing hazel eyes leans against a black jeep. With a slight squeal, Sara skips ahead of me, where Adam pulls her into a thankfully short kiss.
I say thankfully because I admit I am jealous of Sara and Adam's relationship. I've literally got Sara. I suck at talking to boys, not that many have showed boyfriend potential, but still. Forever alone defines me right now.
"Hey there, Aves."
I smile at his nickname and hug Adam.
"Hullo. So, not that I am complaining or anything, but how are you here with pizza?"
"We had an SAT day, and I've already taken mine. Plus, my house is only like twenty minutes away. Sucks that I can't be at this school with you guys."
I nod in understanding. He's a senior and really smart, so he took his SATs last year.
He tucks Sara under his arm and begins whispering things in her ear causing her to giggle. I smile at the two of them, but feel the third wheel-edness. I quickly grab my two slices of Hawaiian pizza and sneak away from the two.
I walk back into the school and up to the lunch area, munching on my pizza. I pull a crumpled dollar bill out of my back pocket of my denim shorts. I get in the snack bar line, so I can buy myself a coke, all the while munching on my pizza.
