Josh:
As soon as we get to the hospital, the paramedics take Colleen's stretcher out of the ambulance and on the ground. We're met by three other doctors - an older man, and two young women.
"Her name is Colleen Evans. She was walking around Target and suddenly started acting very drowsy, according to her husband." I hear one of the paramedics tell the group of doctors.
They mumble things for another minute or so, leaving me awkwardly standing a few feet away, looking at my passed-out wife. Shouldn't she have woken up by now? Why isn't she waking up?
Finally one of the doctors walks over to me.
"Hi, Joshua, my name is Dr. Bennet." She says as she shakes my hand, "That's Dr. Carver and Dr. Reid over there. They're going to take your wife to get some tests. You can come with me."
"Ok." I say. "Do you know what's wrong with her?"
"At the moment, no." Dr. Bennet tells me.
"Do you think she'll be ok?" I ask, my voice cracking. Dr. Bennet seems unphased that I'm on the verge of tears.
"Do you want me to sugar-coat it or not?" She asks, speed walking so we can keep up with the nurses and doctors pushing Colleen's stretcher, "Because I'm known for not sugar-coating things."
"No, no. Tell me everything. Don't sugar-coat it." I say with a sigh.
"Alright. So, normally when a person faints of a generally harmless cause, they should wake up within a few seconds. A minute or two tops. So, it's very strange that your wife would faint and not wake up immediately considering she was having no prior health issues." Dr. Bennet says. "Of course, there are rare times when it just takes a little longer than usual to wake up, which is what we'd like to hope is the case here. However, there are some rare health issues that you could be unaware that Colleen has, and they could be the reason why she's still out. Especially considering it has been almost half an hour."
I feel the tears stream out of my eyes. Why isn't Colleen ok? Dr. Bennet looks at me empathetically.
Suddenly, I notice that Colleen's not in front of us anymore. The doctors all took her behind a curtain.
"Can, can I go in there?!" I ask Dr. Bennet.
"Not right now, Mr. Evans." She tells me. "How about you sit down." She suggests, gesturing towards the depressing baby blue chairs behind us. So I sit. Why can't I see my wife?!

Colleen:
I can think. I'm not unconscious. Josh! Josh, I'm not unconscious! Snoopy it's ok! I'm awake!! I say.
   Wait.
   Why can't I see anything?
   Can anyone hear me?
   JOSH!
   Nope. No luck.
JOSH, COME KISS ME, BABY!! I'M AWAKE!!!!
   I'll just move my arms.
   I can't. I can't move my arms.
   My hand. I'll wave.
I try so hard. Just the slightest shift. Come on, body. We got this!
   Nothing.
My finger. I have to try to bend my finger.
   I can't.
I'm trapped. In my own body.
I'm awake, and there's no way for anyone to tell. I feel like crying. But I can't.
I'm stuck in my brain with no where to go.
