The next morning, the lords were all gathered by the field, and everyone was ready.

Well, everyone except the princess herself. "Where is Merida?" Elinor asked, looking at Rapunzel. Rapunzel shrugged. "I don't know...I think she'll be down soon." She said. "Ah, there she is!" She pointed to the fiery haired princess, who was walking over to them, her bow and arrows ready.

"Let the challenge begin!" Elinor announced.

Macintosh, who went first, as well as MacGuffin, didn't get a bullseye, but some how, Dingwall had managed to hit it by accident. Next up was Hiccup. Merida watched as he struggled to use the bow. For a moment she wondered if Rapunzel could be right, and he was stronger than he looked.

Not a chance. The arrow barely managed to even hit the target at all....

Merida sighed. "Step back, laddies." She murmured. "Let me show you how it's done." She raised her bow, and shot out arrow after arrow, hitting bullseye after bullseye. She stopped at Dingwall's target, aiming at it. The arrow shot through Dingwall's arrow, thudding into the wood behind it. She smirked.

"I guess I win." She said cheerfully.

The lords did not look pleased. Well, except for Stoik, who seemed impressed. "Very good aim." He noted, stroking his long beard thoughtfully. "You should be more like her, Hiccup." Hiccup rolled his eyes, sighing. Great, now his father was comparing him to someone else. Again. He looked back at the red haired archer. Still, he wouldn't mind taking a few lessons from her...

Elinor cleared her throat audibly. "The winner of the first challenge...well, there is no winner." She said. "So, onto the second challenge!"
