"We can stop now if you want."

"I think we should. I have told all I have to tell for now.Well, all I need say for now, but there is more," I say my voice squeaks as I get to the end.

"Well, Let's go."

She leads me out of the room and down the hall. Lily is sitting there. She has Jam all over face from the donut. The officer is helping her wipe the jam of her face. I begin to scream at him.

"No, stop!! Don't Touch! Lily!"

He is shocked and backs away. I run to Lily and wrap my arms around her. I hold her.

I whisper, "Are you okay?"

"Yes, I am. Why did you yell at him?"

I feel guilty about the yelling, but something came over me. It was an instinct to protect Lily.

"I was just trying to make sure you don't ever get hurt like me," I whisper.

I give her a tight squeeze. The officer I was yelling at is gone. It is just Amelia.

"You two are going to have to wait awhile. How about you two play in the room with the toys."

She leads me back into the room I was in before.

"I should be back in a second."

We sit down. I watch Lily play. It still is in my head what I told her. The memories. They haunt me. I can still feel his rough hands on my shoulders. I remember the alcoholic stench of his breath. Thinking about it makes me shiver. He always told me he loved me. That is why he did it, because he loved me. I cry a bit, but I can't Lily. I have to be strong for her. But I can't get the sickening thoughts out of my mind.  The fact that I am damaged goods. He always reminded me of this, when he wasn't in the "loving" mood.  I was just a little I can't even say the words. But they hurt like heck. But Lily. Lily was always my pure flower. I wasn't going to let her be damaged ever. That is why we are here safe from him. I always protected and loved her. There was no one to love and protect me. So me I am just damaged goods.
