"Broken Trust"

I remember yesterday,
We were laughing like there's no tomorrow.
Laughing all out problems away,
Laughing everything away.

I remember the day,
You and I became inseparable.
Like we were twins of different mothers,
That's how close we were.

I didn't know what happened today,
When you started drifting away.
Leaving me all alone,
While you walk home with our group of friends.

A horrible day came after,
Making my heart thump hard.
I somehow knew what was going to happen,
But I was proved wrong.

Our friend finally spilled the beans,
The heartbreaking news you bring.
Making my eyes water,
And my heart shatter.

She told me that day,
That you've been stabbing my back.
And then after that, I realized,
The reason you kept you distance.

But why, of all things,
Would you stab my back?
I told you before,
To tell everything in front of me.

Right now, with what you did,
Not only did you make me cry,
Not only did you break my heart,
Not only did you leave me alone.

These three things didn't matter,
For all the time we've been together.
You broke the thing that did matter,
The trust I gave my best friend forever.
