"Music between Chaos"

The world is so chaotic,
So many things happening at once.
Fights here, arguments there,
I want all of it to end.

I cover my ears with my hands
Trying to block out the world.
But it doesn't work at all.
The chaos keeps creeping back to me.

As I shout, "No, no ,no!"
I hear a familiar sound ringing.
Something I can hear whilst the chaos,
Whilst the world crumbling to pieces.

I follow it through the maze of rage,
Not losing focus of my objective.
To find the thing that creates that melody,
A simple lullaby that keeps me sane.

An isolated room came to my vision,
The melody getting louder as I come nearer.
My heart thumps against my chest,
Eager to see the one making that beautiful sound.

I look at the door,
A sign stapled on it.
"Will you leave the world as you know it?" it read.
"For you'll never leave this room ever again.

I look back to the world I live in
Seeing the chaos once again.
I close my eyes, focusing
As I made my decision.

"Yes, I will." I say,
Twisting the doorknob a bit.
I close my eyes and brace myself,
For the world I'm about to enter.

I open the door,
The simple lullaby gushing out.
The chaos slowly dying down,
The world finally able to rest.

Ah, what a wonderful world it is,
If this door never closed.
Maybe I'll leave it open
For the world to know.
