She was checking the clothes her brothers got for her at the back of the trunk and finally, shook her head.

"Nope. I can't do this."

Jesse tried to stop her sister from going away. "Why?"

Max pulled a little black dress out from the blue luggage. "I can't wear this!"

"Oh, it's just a black dress. Men are suckers for black dresses." Sam pointed out.

"And this! These aren't shorts anymore!"Pulling out a denim that almost look like an underwear.

Jesse and Sam only snickered. "Those are really good."

She sighed. "Look, do you want me to join or not?"

"Of course we do."

"Then get me some decent clothes for crying out loud."

Jesse pulled some of the clothes. "Fine, we'll get you your clothes. Although it'll be hard but, we'll get one. But, you have to keep this white summer dress." He raised a lacey white dress and threw it to Max.

"Yeah. I think they look good on you." Sam added.

"Okay. Okay."

Sam's phone began to ring and after he read it, he immediately place all the clothes in the luggage got it out of the van.

"It's time! You have to go! They're calling you!" Sam pushed Max as Jesse carried her luggage at the same time towards the iron gate.

"Good luck, sis!" Jesse called out before getting into the van.

"Win the half million please! Love you, sis!" Sam added, right before they trailed off.

Max sneered at them. Stupid, stupid brothers! She looked at the tall gate and gave a long exhale. Second place-that's all it takes.

She went inside the palace and was awed at the large architecture. She couldn't help but enjoy the sight of everything. She dream of having a large house once but the reality crushed her will to dream such fantasies.

She manage to get inside and was even more fascinated at the interior. It was  even grandiose inside-a large circular lobby of marbled flooring and marbled posts,  two large spiral stairs met at the second floor with glossy wood finish, intricate detail of the balusters  and the moldings too were a stunner. A large crystal chandelier was at the center of the room just below the circular atrium with a fin design made everything elegant and full of sophistication and of course, wealth.

"Maxine Reeves?" Max's fantasy was cut off when someone called her. She looked around to see who was calling. She found herself looking at a man-in his 50's- with his blue shirt underneath the gray suit approached him and made Max gulped when she saw the sharp look that he gave him through his fine square glasses.

"Y-Yes. Yes. That's me."

"What took you so long? The others have already arrived!" he said as he pushed Max towards the left. Max hinted a tone of feminism and decided that he's gay. Well, not that it was a problem but somehow, she always known them to be precise about certain things.

He led her towards two large white doors.

"I'm really sorry."

"No need to apologize dear. You're here already." He pushed both the brass levers and opened another room. It was another extension of the lobby, except it has more furniture-furniture that she herself knew she couldn't afford. And there too, were women talking with each other and all of them were different. Curly, straight, blonde, brunette, ginger, black, long, short-but they got one similarities: beauty and sophistication.

Some competition, Max thought.
