N. Italy x Reader- Slips 'n' Poems (Part I)

Aye, Nacchan here. This is my first fanfic, so no like no hate. Got it? Then you're good to go.

<Third Person POV>

Today was your birthday. (month) (date). You woke up like usual, washed up and ate breakfast. Just like any other day. You got started on your homework, which was World Economy. Just like any other day. You stood up, dragged yourself to the fridge, and got (fav. drink). Just like any other day. A normal, usual day.

Heck, it happens every year. Your mother went on "a long hiatus" which included leaving the house four years ago and probably selling herself at god-knows-where. Your father had left early for work, said he had to finish his economics presentation about Greece which, according to him, was very important. And your older sister (A/N: let's just say you have an older sis) had to go to a photoshoot for her next "Ask (older sis's name)" of the oh-so-famous magazine, (magazine name). Your cat, (cat name), just HAD to go flirt with his/her boyfriend/girlfriend, leaving you alone.

Every single year, on your birthday, you were home alone, either finishing up your homework, or watching anime. You always ended up singing happy birthday to yourself with a doughnut from (fav. doughnut shop). And your family members acted like they did nothing wrong the next day, either hurrying to school or work.

Anyways, you just got back from the fridge with a cup of (fav. drink), ready to start your next homework, which was Trigonometry. Just as you held your mechanical pencil, your phone vibrated. A text. You picked up your phone irritably, and looked up the caller ID. Oh. It was Feli. One of your friends at school, who transferred from Italy to New York, then to (state name). It read,

One Helluva Pasta: Hi (name)-chan~! I a-wanted to play a game, so tag along~♪

"I once a-had a pet chipmunk, I hope you remember.

It had a-big cheeks, and climbed upon a church member."

A flashback struck upon you. It was about eight years ago, about an year after Feli came. Somehow, a chipmunk fell for him, and stuck with him until it got a real true owner. Before that, it followed everywhere he went, like Mary and her little lamb. One day, Feli took you and Lovi to church, when the chipmunk secretly stalked him, and landed on the head of a preacher. You slightly chuckled. Ah, the memories...

~Time-skip brought to you by... Who?~

You rushed to the church, which you still went on Sundays. There was an ancient looking yellow-ish paper on the stairs, and it read,

"Oh, so you a-made it! Next! Ve~

'Lovi said that tomatoes are life,

And he treated them just like his wife."

Several years ago, you went tomato picking with the brothers. Lovi, being the extreme tomato lover he is, refused to cut it to make salad. You rushed to Feli's house, dashing to the pasta-scented kitchen.

~Time-skip~

There it was, the slip, lying on the marble counter. It read,

"Ah, (name)-chan is pretty smart~ But can you find this next one?

'Enormous amount of pasta, you see

Makes you very smart, indeed.'

You had to laugh at this one. You swear he had a disease of pasta addiction. But yes, indeed, this was hard. You never new where he would hide the slip in his house, especially when the hiding place had to be PASTA. You wondered around the house, and up the stairs, but no pasta was ever to be found. You landed in front of Feli's room.

'Here's the only place he would've hidden it,' you thought, and slowly opened the door. You opened the drawers, his closet, and finally, his desk.

You noticed a letter on his desk. The envelope was ballet pink with multi-colored petit flowers, with a red heart sticker. Curiosity struck you, and you opened up the letter, to reveal a similar ballet pink lined paper. It read:

'Dear Feliciano Vargas,

I've been in love with you for a long time, could you go out with me? ♡

Love,

(girl name)'

...

What did you just see!? A love letter to Feli. You suddenly had the urge to tear it up, but you held it in. Why? Feli was just your friend. A friend will be happy whole-heartedly if their friend got a lover. But you were jealous. VERY jealous. What was this feeling?
