If you speed up 'doomsday' to 200% it sounds like a folksong.

After the TARDIS began working again the Doctor pulled himself and Clara out of the new age London and went back in time. The place he had tried to aim for was Vancouver B.C. around 1890 but instead ended up in a small town called Nelson. He bounded out like usual but soon realized that he had gotten the place wrong. He walked to a nearby man and asked "Which town is this sir?"

The man looked up from his chair. "We're in Nelson son, not surprised you don't know it."

"Nelson? Oh yeah, the fishing and mining town. I know this place.Thank you." He nodded and turned for the TARDIS.

"I suggest you stay a while, we're a bit low on youngsters like yourself." The man called as the Doctor walked away.

"I might, depends on whether my partner likes it here or not."He called back. Once inside the TARDIS he laughed.

"What're you so amused about?"Clara asked tapping her foot, she had been told to stay inside while he checked outside. After Trenzalore the Doctor had been a bit too protective.

"We're in Nelson."

"Where?"

"Nelson, it's and old mining and fishing town made about ten years ago but was full of the Cotinneh Indians. Lots of salmon and good ores." He answered. "Nice place if a bit boring."

She rolled her eyes. "Small town?"

"Very."

"Fun."

Somehow Clara had lured him into wandering around town. Him in his usual bowtie and suit and her in jeans and a lovely dark red, buttoned jacket. First they were just walking around town then the Doctor noticed her slight shiver and pulled them into the only open place at this late time, a pub. Which he didn't like but he put up with. Most of the men who came over to them just wanted to ask about the strange sense of style he and Clara had but then the Doctor left and when he came out he noticed a younger boy, probably 18 or 19, talking to Clara. She seemed pleased.

The Doctor stayed back from them for a bit seeing as how he knew that he shouldn'tmonopolize her but after watching for a bit he didn'tlike what he saw. The boy kept leaning in, or accidentally touching her hand, sometimes he even whispered to her. The Doctor wasn't jealous, not at all. timelords don't get jealous, he was just concerned what the boy might do to Clara. He got up and went to the table.

"Hullo, who's this?" He asked to Clara.

The boy cleared his throat. "The names Thomas Williams. You are?" He boy asked with too much confidence.

"John Smith." The Doctor replied frowning. "I came to this town about three years back, I would suppose you remember that."

Clara was confused at the Doctors attitude. His posture was very defensive and his voice wasn't it's usual excited tone.

"Yes, I remember that. You saved us from the landslide. Thank you sir." The boy nodded, clearly saying the the Doctor could leave now.

The Doctor sat next to Clara. "I'll assume this boys been keeping you company?"

"Oh? Oh, yeah, yeah he has." Clara said happily.

"You should never leave a pretty girl alone in a pub." Thomas said easily.

"That is true, however. you should also ask before talking to another mans woman." The Doctor replied. "Especially when they're a higher military rank and have more wealth."

Clara glared at the Doctor "I'm not-"

"Clara, timezone." The Doctor said simply.

"Sorry John." Clara lent back into her seat. She didn't like having to act like he 'owned' her.

Thomas scowled. If this John Smith was actually wealthier and a higher rank, that was bad. Thomas was used to being the wealthiest. "Well sir, I don't wish to upset you but I would be honored to stay and share a drink."

The Doctor looked at a small pocket watch. "You'll have to share it with someone else. Clara and I are late for a meeting."

"May I ask what this meeting is about?"

"Classified."  The Doctor replied bitterly but softened and put out his hand for Clara "Clara?"

She smiled at Thomas trying to say sorry but quickly looked to the Doctor and took his hand. "I'm coming, I always do."

The Doctor smiled then looked to Thomas. "Goodbye Thomas." He said before turning and leaving with Clara on his arm.

"What was that about?" Clara questioned inside the TARDIS.

"What was what about?" He questioned back.

"How you acted with Thomas."

"I didn't like him."

"That's not a good reason."

"Does there have to be a good reason?"

"Yes."

He sighed and thought for a moment. "I didn't like him because he..... Uh..." He wasn't sure he wanted to continue that thought.

"Because he what?" Clara asked with a brow raised. Was the Doctor jealous?

"Nevermind!" The Doctor turned and started dialing in the proper co-ordinates of Vancouver..

"No, I want to know. We are after all dating, you're not supposed to keep secrets from me and vise-versa." Clara replied

"I just didn't like him."

"Why?" Clara moved in front of the Doctor and put a hand on her hip. "Were you jealous?"

"I was not jealous! I just didn't like him, he's not someone I like." He answered turning his head. He may have been jealous but he wasn't going to admit it.

"What did he ever do to you?"

"He talked to you." The Doctor muttered unhappily so it sounded more like 'hetaledtoyou'

"You /were/ jealous." Clara laughed. "Doctor, I only love you."

"Only me?"  The Doctor asked. It was hard for him to actually know that, he was after all, over a thousand years old and after so much time the word love starts being heard so much it has no meaning but when it came from Clara, he didn't just dully hear it and know what it meant, it sparked something and he wanted to make sure she hadn't misspoken.

"Yes, you and only you. No rich human guy is gonna make me leave, not even Thomas."

The Doctor smiled and pulled her into a tight hug. "Good."
