There's a pretty dumb saying out there that goes "High school is the best four years of your life,". Well who ever says that is an idiot. High school was the worst years of my life. That, however, could be contributed to the fact that I had to save the world and fight in a supernatural war whilst in high school. Twice.
But before I get to far into the story, let's start from the beginning. It was a week before my junior year ended, and things had not been going as planned. I had been dumped and humilated publicly a month ago, and I had to see my ex's new girlfriend every single day. The only person who didn't think I was a complete idiot who loved technology way to much, was David Masen, my best friend in the whole world, who unfortunately had a huge crush on Evie, the one girl who hated me more than anything, for reasons I can not understand.
Maybe it was because Harry had left Evie for me freshman year. And up until now, we had been the couple that had been dating the longest in the school. With Harry's 6 foot tall body, caramel colored eyes, and brown hair that curled at the top, whoever was dating him was immediately popular.
At that moment, the warning bell for home room rang and David came waltzing in, unusually late, and sat down behind me. "S'up Sky?" He asked.
I studied him. "You're late. You're never late. Where were you?"
"What? No where." David fiddled with his pencil, a sure sign that he was lying.
I leaned over and sniffed him. "You smell just like Harry!" I hissed.
"Oh, come on!" David whined. "We were best friends while you two were dating, you can't just expect me to stop being friends with him!"
"David. Harry dumped me in front of everyone at the school. People are still making fun of me and it happened a month ago. You were my best friend ever since pre school, and his friend for like one year. Please, David..."
"Yeah, okay. I get it. I'm sorry." David reached over and grabbed my hand. "I'm sorry, Sky."
"It's alright. Besides, he had a fling with Evie, remember?" I smirked at him.
"Oh, yeah." David said viciously, giving me a wink. "That bastard."
