"Eva, are you mad?" Troy asked me.
I turned to stare at him, astonished. "Did you just now figure that out?"
"Why?" He asked.
"Gee, I don't know! Maybe because you were cuddling up to Diamond this morning, and maybe, just maybe because you stabbed my best friend's boyfriend!"
"Skylar forgave me for that, and it was even her boyfriend!"
"I still don't understand why you had to do it!"
"Because I'm worried about what Skylar had said, and about her dream! It said the one she loves is going to betray her!"
"Maybe it didn't mean in the sense of betraying her to The Forces, maybe it just meant something smaller, like a break up, or cheating!"
"Maybe it did, but-" Troy stopped mid sentence. "Evalynn, nothing happened between Diamond and I."
"Then why were you snuggled up to her like that?" I asked, trying to keep it together.
"I don't know! I was just trying to keep her safe I guess."
My throat felt tight, and I nodded quickly, trying to ignore the tightness in my chest.
"But I don't have any feelings for her, and it's not like we did anything besides sleep!"
"You sure you don't like her?" I asked, out of spite.
"Yes!" He cried.
I didn't answer.
"Dammit Evalynn! I don't have feelings for Diamond because I lo-" Troy stopped mid sentence again, and my head snapped up to stare at him.
"Because you what?" I asked him, searching his face.
"Because I love you!" Troy suddenly shouted.
I quickly ran over to him, pulled his head down and kissed him. My arms wrapped around his neck, and he lifted me up into his arms so he could kiss me better.
I felt him set me down on a bed, and my heart started pounding. My hand gripped the back of his shirt, and balled part of it into my hand. He laid me down on the bed, and I felt him lay directly on top of me, all the while kissing me.
"Oh my, God..."
"What is it, sweetie?" He asked, lips still pressed to mine.
I shoved him away a little bit, and stared at him. "That wasn't me..." I whispered.
We both slowly turned out heads to the door to see Diamond standing there, mouth wide open, eyes bulging.
Troy pushed himself up a little but not completely off of me. "Now Diamond, wait. There's no need to-"
"SKYLAAAAAAAAAR!" Diamond shouted to the top of her lungs.
Before either of us could react, Skylar and Evie were in the doorway.
"What, what's going....on?" Skylar suddenly stopped, sword in mid-air. "Guys...?" She directed the last question towards us.
Troy didn't move, so I violently shoved him off of me.
"Oh my God, were you guys just fooling around?" Evie asked.
"Are you guys doing it?"
"Are you guys, like, friends with benefits?"
"Are you guys-"
"Okay, that's enough!" I said. "Enough! Troy and I are together. We're a couple, and we love each other, now if you could all be mature about this and-" My sentence was interrupted by a screech of joy from Skylar.
"Huh?" Troy was confused. "Wait, you're happy about this?"
"Of course I am! My best friend and my brother, how exciting!"
"Oh my God, Evalynn, why didn't you tell me?!" Evie groaned. "I've been hitting on Troy for the past two weeks."
Troy snickered. "Yeah, that was pretty funny."
Skylar was still gushing. "Now you guys can get married, and have like, 10 kids, and-"
I crossed my legs, and folded my arms over my crotch. "Ohh, hell, no!"
Suddenly, there was a knock on the door, interrupting the happiness that was happening in the room.
Skylar flung open the door, and flung it back shut with the same speed. She turned around, a smile glued to her face. "We're doomed."
"Why, who is it?" Diamond asked.
"Men in orange camo pants, and flames tattooed on the wrists."
"Fire assassins." Evie moaned.
The knocking on the door was louder this time, and Skylar jumped. "Everybody out the window." she whispered.
Thankful this was only a one floor motel, we quietly shimmied the window open, and one by one we all crawled out. I was the last one out, and as soon as my feet touched the pavement, pain exploded in the back of my head. Black squiggles appeared over my vision, and I dizzily turned around.
One of the fire assassins was holding a piece of wood, and an unconscious Skylar was flung across his shoulder. Others held Evie, Diamond and Troy as well. I tried to suck in a breath to blow him away, but before I could exhale, he punched me in the stomach, causing me to cough and lose control of the air in my body.
The black squiggles grew larger, and I was having trouble standing. I took a half step forward and immediately fell over. I heard a deep booming laugh and felt myself being picked up before I faded into unconsciousness.
