Hey there! :D I has chapterr, you has eyes, you can has read chapterr
Sorry, I feel retarded :C
Before I knew it, the day had arrived. It was finally the day that symbolized the beginning of my new life.
It was September 1, 1975.
Mum and Dad didn't come to see us off, as Mum wasn't feeling well, and Dad had to go to work. So, Mum watched from the living room as James and I flooed over to Platform 9 and 3/4. Before we left, though, she pulled me aside.
"Don't be depressed the whole time," she told me, smiling weakly. "Make friends, yeah? Merlin knows you'll need people to make you smile. Don't be afraid to try dating, I'm sure it won't be that bad."
Yeah, Mum, it won't be that bad. Except for the fact that I still see Eli in every boy I meet.
But I didn't say that to her, how could I? Especially not when she was ill... that would just make me feel immensely guilty. So instead, I nodded and smiled back.
I mean, it's not like she's going to know if I was depressed the whole time, right?
At my smile, she got up and gently pushed me to the fireplace.
"Quickly now, James, you're going first with all your belongings. Okay?"
James nodded and climbed into the fireplace, and cried "Platform 9 3/4!"
Then it was my turn. After giving Mum one last hug, I hopped into the fireplace and said, "Platform 9 3/4!"
Green flames engulfed me and everything turned black. But the next second, I arrived in a fireplace facing a beautiful red train engine.
I mean, WOW! It was so big, so beautiful, so... red.
Woah, no kidding! No one could have guessed it was big or red. I mean, it's not like it's a train engine or anything...
Shut up, okay? I'm just generalizing here.
You're also talking to yourself. That's a sign of insanity, you know.
Ignoring the voice in my head, I decided to take my luggage and find a compartment on the train. Just in time, too, because not even a minute after I boarded, the train began to move. Soon enough, I found an empty compartment and decided to sit down. Finally, some peace and quiet, I thought, closing my eyes.
"Hey Jackie!"
Well, to be fair, I didn't expect the silence to last that long anyway.
Cracking one eye open, I saw James standing in front of me, and closed it again.
"What do you want?" I mumbled. I could almost feel him rolling his eyes.
"Can the Marauders and I sit here? We don't like sitting with other people."
"And I'm not another person?"
"Please? I'll take you shopping in Hogsmeade."
"I'm perfectly capable of going myself, thanks."
"This must be the longest conversation we've had all summer, Jackie. I'm proud of you."
And then everything was quiet. Too quiet.
I opened my eyes, only to find James, Sirius and some other guy staring at me silently. I groaned, knowing that they would never leave. So, instead, I stared back at the unknown boy.
"Who're you?"
James tsked, shaking his head. "So rude," he said, smirking.
One look into his eyes told me that he was truly ecstatic that I was behaving normally... not my normal, but the average wizard's normal.
"Anyway, this is Peter Pettigrew. He's another Marauder."
I nodded. So this was Peter. Well, if all guys looked like him, I'd have no problems at Hogwarts. But unfortunately for me, I already knew I was wrong.
"So that leaves Moony. Where's he, then?"
"In the Prefect's carriage. He-"
"Enough of that," Sirius said, cutting James off. "Go out with me, Potter?"
James scrunched up his nose. "Listen, you're my best mate and all, but-"
"Oh sod off, I wasn't asking you!"
"Well, you said Potter..."
I caught a glimpse of fiery red hair in the corner of my eye and looked up just in time to see a boy open the compartment door and a red-headed girl stare at me in confusion. I smiled weakly at her, and she smiled back, but then motioned to the others in the compartment. I rolled my eyes and shrugged. She smirked and beckoned me to come with her. I stood up, only to come face to face with the boy who had just walked in, who could only be Moony.
"Who are you?" he asked, at the same time that James asked "Where are you going?"
"I'm Jacqueline, Jackie to you," I addressed Moony. "I know who you are, spare us all the trouble." Then, glancing at James and Sirius, I said, "I'm going to sit with better company." And with that, I grabbed my luggage and walked out of the compartment. Before I closed the door, I heard Sirius complain, "But she didn't give me an answer!"
I smirked. Maybe Hogwarts will be better than I thought.
Yeahh, it's short. Sorry, not sorry. But I'm sure the next one will be longer because I know something you don't know! :P But anyway, I love you, bai~
