Chapter 16

Beverly's POV

Home sweet home.

I smiled at that thought as I unpacked the things I had 'brought' to Ryker's house. It wasn't much so everything was back in their places after a while. I lie down on the bed. Ella had went back home. The boys went to the studio to record their songs. 

I want a new start. But how? I'm graduating in a few weeks. Ella too. Maybe we can go somewhere else? I mean. She've always wanted to leave her home. Even though, we're 17, we both skipped one grade so we're seniors. If I leave, I have to bring Mum, Brandon and Beth with me. I don't mind. But where to go? 

My thoughts were broke off with my phone ringing. I looked at the caller ID. Ella. Ella? 

"Hello El?"

"Bev. Can I go to your place right now..."

"What happened El?!"

"Just answer me.."

"Sure.. I mean you've been here many times before. Mum wouldn't mind.."

"Be there in a few." 

She hung up the phone without saying goodbye. Strange. Ella never does that.

"Mum!" I yelled walking out of my room.

"In the kitchen sweetie!" she yelled back and I made my way to the kitchen.

Brandon and Mum was baking while Beth was in her cot. We had put up a cot in the kitchen so that Mum or I could keep a eye on her while we were cooking. "Yes sweetie?" Mum asked without looking up from her dough making.

"Ella is coming over. I have no idea why she's coming over. Can she stay over in case anything happens?" I asked knowing Mum will say yes.

"Sure sweetheart. But I have a night shift tonight. It's one of my last few shifts before they're promoting me. I have to make sure this goes all alright. Can you babysit Brandon? I'll bring Beth to my friend's house," Mum said as Brandon was putting his finger into the dough which I'm guessing was chocolate chip.

"Sure Mum. Mind if I ask some of my other friends?" 

"Sure. Are they the five lovely boys?"

"Yeah Mum. In case Ella needs some girl time, Brandon can play with them."

"Then I'm okay with that. Just make sure you take care of Brandon properly. I'll leave some money on the table top before I leave. Brandon should be having nap. Buy some takeaway or drive my car to eat or buy ingredients. I trust you with the house and car. Be careful."

"I will Mum! What are you baking?"

"Chocolate chip cookies. I have some ingredients left for a rainbow cake. You just have to buy the food dye."

"I'll ask Ella if she wants to bake the cake with me. Leave some cookies for me Mum!"

I walked back to my room and took my phone.

To: Daddy x

Liam, want to come over to my house with the other boys? I need someone to take care of Brandon in case. Please? :(

From: Daddy x

Sure I guess? What happened?

To: Daddy x

Ella is coming over. I'm not sure what happened to her. So just in case. I'm asking you guys to come over. Mum and Beth will be out so it's okay. You guys can stay over too!

Everyone's okay with it! Text me your address? Does your house have a pool? The boys wanna go swimming..

To: Daddy x

Erm.. I have a pool... Well that's great! Brandon been bugging me to swim with him but I really have no time. Entertain him for me please!

I text my address to Liam and I heard the doorbell ring. I shot out of my room to open the door. Ella stood there in a state. Her hair was messily tied into a loose ponytail, strands of hair falling from the ponytail. She was sniffing and wiping her nose. Her eyes were a little red and swollen. She was in her jumper and sweatpants. She had a sports bag slung around her shoulder. She was in a horrible state. "E-Ella?" I whispered quietly.

"Bev," she said dropping the sports bag on the porch as she hugged me tightly. I was shocked at first but I hugged her back. 

"Shhhh. Ella. What happened?" I whispered loud enough for her to hear.

She just continued to sob into my hoodie. "Ella. What happened?" I said.

She just sob not answering me. Mum walked from the kitchen and saw the state Ella was in. "Ella honey. Come sit down and tell us what happened," Mum said.

Ella nodded as Mum helped her to the couch. I picked up her sports bag and brought it in before closing the door. "So Ella, what happened?" Mum asked softly.

She was sniffing loudly. "Mu-mum ki-kic-kicked me ou-out o-of th-the ho-house," Ella said sniffing and stuttering. 

"Why?" I asked holding her hand.

"She said I threw the family's face with disagreeing on your marriage since Mrs James was one of Dad's company major investor. She said I don't deserve to be her daughter. She's ashamed of me. Another reason why she kicked me out of the house is beacause someone sent an article of the boys and me going out once when you were at Ryker's house. We just went out for lunch. We fooled around a little but it got caught on camera and the reporter published an article saying that I was one of their girlfriend. Mum thought it was true. So I'm here.." Ella explained trying not to cry.

"But no matter what happens, your mother shouldn't have threw you out of the house," I said.

"You know my mum Bev. She rather keep her pride than her own flesh and blood," Ella said scoffing in between her tears.

"Ella, you're welcomed to stay here. As long as you want too. I've already saw you as my own daughter," Mum said smiling before looking at the time.

It was about 4 in the afternoon. "Oh dear. I need to go for work soon. I'm sorry Ella. I've baked some chocolate chip cookies. You want some?" Mum said as she stood up.

"Sure.." she said trailing off.

"Call me Mum," Mum said smiling and Ella smiled for the first time she stepped into my house.

"Honey, my friend can't take care of Beth. Can you take care of Beth?" Mum as she walked up the stairs.

"Sure Mum! I'll take care of Brandon and Beth! Just go for your assignements!" I yelled and I heard her room door click.

My phone vibrated and I took it out.

Pick up some food dye please. Thanks in advance! :) I'll pay you when you get here!

Red, orange, yellow, light blue, green, purple, pink, black and dark blue ! Some rainbow sprinkles please! M&Ms chocolate flavour too! :)

On it! :) See you in a few hours love!

"I'm leaving! The money is on the table. Spend it wisely. I trust you. If you're baking anything, leave some for me to try okay?" Mum said as she put on her coat.

"Sure Mum! I will! Bye!" I said as she left the house waving at us.

I turned to look at Ella. "Up for some baking?" I asked grinning.

"Sure. You up for some decorating since I've got a feeling the boys are coming over," she said grinning back at me.

"Glow jars again?" I asked.

"I think I got've something," she said smiling.
