The blade comes too fast for me to even move, but out of no where, a golden rope whips down and wraps around Pitch's wrist.
The last thing we see of him is a look of shock and fear, before he shoots off far behind the buses. I stare at his exit, before running and pretty much almost tackling Jack with a hug.
"Are you ok?"
He hugs me tight, and chuckles shakily.
"I'm- I'm just fine, Sunshine."
I smile at him, then look toward the buses.
"What in God's name just happened?"
He stares in the same direction.
"I don't know."
Wait. A golden whip....It couldn't-
"You don't think it is..."
I look at him with hope. Could it be our small golden friend?? Alive again?! His eyes widen knowingly.
"Sandy."
He wraps one arm around my waist, and lifts us slowly over the buses. I hear the others behind us following almost completely silent. Tooth's wings flutter, and Bunny's feet hop slowly, and almost hesitantly on the roof of the yellow transportations.
And that's when we stop. A small golden figure stands near an unconscious Pitch. The children follow us in our awe as he smiles up at us.
"Sandy."
I utter, dazed and confused on what I may be seeing. He's alive.... Jack floats us down gently, letting us touch to the ground without a casualty. I notice the children standing in a group still staring. The silence between us only lasts for seconds, before we all smile and cheerily welcome our old friend back.
"Oh we missed you Sandman! So much!"
Tooth says squeezing him as if she'll never let go. All of us crowd around him smiling and laughing. North ends up lifting him on his shoulder. It's over. It has to be... I feel Jack wrap an arm around my shoulders, and squeeze not too tightly. I relax my head on the side of his chest. Feeling completely at peace knowing he's here next to me, and everything is slowly becoming... Blissful.
That bliss is suddenly interrupted with excitement when a snowball comes crashing into his cheek. He wipes it of and looks at the culprit. Bunny. Of course...
"Oh, you're going down Cottontail!"
He races toward him with freshly frozen ammunition in his hand. Before we know it a huge snowball war breaks out. I throw balls left and right, only aiming when I see Jack not paying attention. It hits the side of his neck. I laugh as he looks around to find out who was able to catch him. He looks at me with a mischievous smirk.
"You want some of this?"
He chases after me, making me run to a near by tree. As soon as I'm out of sight. I climb quickly and quietly up the branches making sure I'm not spotted. I just make it to high enough branch, and able to scrap off enough snow into my hands when he comes looking around the trunk. As soon as he's right under me I drop the handful right on to his head. He pauses with a smile, before looking up at me. I laugh so hard that I lose my footing and fall right into his arms. He gives me a smug expression.
"I think you fell for me."
I blush a little, but regain my composure.
"Oh so you don't usually just catch random women falling from trees?"
He chuckles.
"Only when I've fallen for them, Sunshine."
I giggle as he puts me down.
"Why do you keep calling me that?"
"Well I think it suites you, Because you're the strongest and brightest person I've ever met, and you light up my world."
I smile and look down, before looking back up ready to show my true feelings. No more fear. No more.
"And you're-"
I'm stopped by a sight in the corner of my eye. A dark figure struggling to stand up. I turn quickly with dread yanking at my insides. Jack wraps his arms protectively around my shoulders, as we watch Pitch stumbling toward the frozen pond, but something happens that we didn't expect. Two of the children run straight through him, laughing without a care nor a sign of fear in the world... They don't believe in him anymore.
He stumbles from shock and continues almost drunkly toward the frozen pond once more. Slowly everyone starts to notice his leave, and we follow him one by one. We feel no fear as we walk on, I especially feel none as Jack keeps his arm wrapped tight around me. The warmth of the sun, now rising lights up the ice to a pretty light blue. It offsets Pitch's black and silver figure.
This is it. We beat him. He's weakened, and we've become stronger. Right?
He turns around with a fearful jump.
"Never thought king of Fear would be such a coward."
North snorts behind us. Pitch glares up at us with sudden anger.
"You're all going to regret this."
"Hey Pitch! Catch!"
Tooth flips what seems like a quarter to fall right into his hand.
"A quarter??"
He looks up again to meet Tooth's fist. I try not to laugh when I see one of his teeth fly in the other direction.
"That's! For my Fairies!"
He sits himself back up, when an idea pops into my head. I walk forward quickly released by Jack's hold and I grab a hand full of Pitch's hair, dragging him the corner of the pond.
He grabs my hand to try to relieve the pain, but from my experience it doesn't help that much. My sudden strength starts to become spent before I use the last of it to haul him to against the trunk of a tree at the other end of the pond. I look at him and a satisfied mind is hidden with a cloud of anger as I scowl, when two yetis hold him down by the shoulders.
"How does it feel to be someone's bitch?"
I whisper in anger. I turn to the others. Do they know he's possessed?
"We have to exorcise him."
I say grimly. I'm not an exorcist..... Can I do this? I pray to God to give me enough strength.... As long as I keep my faith...
"Exorcise him ? But I thought-"
Jack stumbles until I can see his eyes light up with new knowledge.
"Tooth please get the children out here. I don't want them to see this."
Tooth nods to me and ushers them back towards their houses.
" Pitch.... You said he was ambushed by those things..."
Jack answers.
"Yes. His name wasn't Pitch though. It was Kozmotis. Kozmotis Pitchiner."
I look back at Pitch with the same anger as before.
"And the one who calls himself Pitch Black, is going back to Hell where he belongs. Even if it's the last thing I do."
He grits his teeth in anger.
"You're going to regret this."
I bend down and grab him by the throat.
"No. You going to regret everything you put me through. Exorcizamus te, omnis immundas spiritus, omnis satantica potestas..."
"-aHH STOP IT! SHUT UP! -"
"Omnis incursio infernalis adversii. Omnis congregatio et secta diabolica, ergo-"
"AHHH- YOUR GOING TO REGRET THIS- I WILL KILL HIM- IM RIP HIM TO SHREDS!!"
I stop.
"I'd rather him die than be your puppet any longer. DRACO MALEDICTE ECCLESIAM TUAM. SECURA TIBI FACIAS LIBERTATE SERVIRE, TE ROGAMUS!"
He screams so loud I almost think the ice will break, but I shake the thought from my mind, and whisper the final words.
"Audi nos."
A black thick smoke travels out of his mouth with a haunting screech I watch travel quickly toward Jack- NO-
"JACK!"
I run to get him, but it's to late. It's almost as if time slows down as I watch his body slam into a tree and fall to the ground.
"NOOOO!!"
I fall to my knees and hold his cheeks in my hands.
"Jack! Jack! Jac-"
My voice cracks as tears fall from my eyes. This is all my fault. He's gone.
"God! PLEASE! PLEASE I CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT YOU! I! I love- I love you."
More tears stream down. This is what he meant.... He was going to kill... He killed him. I inch my face closer to his until our foreheads are touching, trying to look away from the giant opening through his guts, and hold his hand in mine.
"Everyday. Everyday I prayed everyday that I would find a light in the darkness. And you.... You were the answer to my pleas. I never believed in happily ever afters, until I met you."
I kiss his lips once softly. His face looks so lifeless, but I keep trying to find some form of life. My Darling. My sweet darling....The sky grows darker with clouds and rain, and I barely notice a paw gently grab my shoulder.
"He's gone lass."
Bunny chokes grimly behind me.
"No.... No.... If I would've just went with him... I should've just shut up swallowed my pride and-"
"It's not your fault. You did what you had to do."
I push forward and hug what remains of my love. Jack Frost. How will this world live without Jack Frost..... How will I live.
"I will never love again."
I whisper with defeat. No I'm not going to try. Love. Love is- Love is the reason for his downfall. For Mo's-
"Victoria."
Mo whispers sitting next to me. I look up at him. I've dreamt of this moment. The moment he came back to me, but I can't stop morning for Jack, and I don't think I ever will. Mo bends down and hugs me tight. I wail and cough and hug into his bare shoulder.
"I got you into this and.... And I'm going to give you back what I took."
I manage to make myself slowly calm down as he releases me and moves his hand on my forehead.
"I love you. Always have. Always will, but you love him, and I won't selfishly make you live without him.... All I ask is Let go. Of me. Of the past. Let go and never look back. Unless- unless you have to. "
Before I can respond a powerful pain erupts in my shoulder blades- MY WINGS! They slice through my healed skin and the bandages, coming back to life as they grow. The pain is so much that I barely notice Mo going to Jack.
"What- what are you do -ing?"
I grit out. He looks down at the wound, places a hand on it, then places another on his head.
"Helping you let go."
