"Nick, no," I pulled from his grip rubbing my arm where he had his hand on me.
"Nobody is going to believe me! You have to, please. You always believe me Amy. I know... I know I've been wrong before but they really are coming back, THERES SOMETHING WRONG WITH THEM-"
"You're high! Its making you insane. Just stop. Just stop with it all and be... Nick. Be normal!. For once please."
"You're not listening!" He pulled me down on a dirty, old mattress I'm sure that was infested with something "they-they-they get...sick. Amelia, I'm telling the truth, I promise. They get sick and die and then... They just... Come back but they're not themselves, not anymore." He pleaded every word not letting go of my hands.
"What are you on?" I asked and he groaned.
"I'm fine." He whimpered "I'm fine. I just need you to... Believe me." His eyes started to water "Amy," he whispered "you're not safe, nobody is safe. We need to leave. Just go away from this town. Just trust me. I don't want to lose you."
"We can't just leave, we have family here." He ran his hands over and down his face. "Do you remember when we were little? Do you remember when you said you wanted to move out of the city?" he asked pulling at his sweater awkwardly.
"That was different, Nick."
"How?"
"It just is!"
"No it's not!"
"Yes it is because we only made it to the coffee shop down the road. You're talking about leaving."
"You said you wanted to run away. You said you wanted to run away, with me." he said looking me straight in the eyes. "Lets run away," he whispered "You and me, Just like old times but we'll go farther. Much, farther."
I sighed "Fine." He rested his forehead to mine and smiled "I love you."
