I sit in the water, waiting to hear the roar of grandma's caravan, or see Red flying over trees. The pool is my happy place, and it is where I feel the most comfortable. I move the water into small waves with my hands, watching it ripple. I love water, it gives me a sense of security. I flip my tail up into the air, and swim under the water quickly.
"Love your element, either water or fire" I whisper, quoting grandma. She loves equality, but believes that each 'magic' can only be interested in his or her element. I come back up out of the water, to the sound of footsteps. I look hopefully, hoping to see Red, but it's not him. Clive is walking up to me, alone, with a sweet smile on his face. When he reaches me, I flinch away from his outstretched hand. He has tanned skin, and lovely, ocean-blue eyes. I see his pixie ears poking out from under his hood, and a hint of un-natural life hangs in his presence. His blonde hair frames his face perfectly, and he has a dazzling smile. His outfit consists of a lose cut, white shirt, some green trousers, and very thick-soled boots. Now he is frowning, and he sits on the pools edge. "Look Fia, the kiss meant nothing, ok?" He says, tears in his eyes.
"Yes, I agree" I say, smiling, but I seem to feel another meaning in his eyes.
"I'm never doing that again" he laughs, scratching a mosquito bite on his neck.
"Neither am I, believe me"
"So, are we are on good terms then?" He asks.
"I believe so" I smile
"Good!" Clive smiles.
"I thought we would never speak again!" I laugh.
"Then you were incorrect" Clive smiles.
"Your a good guy, Clive"
"And you are a good sister to River, Fia"
"Thank you, I appreciate it"
"I need to see River" Clive is suddenly anxious.
"Ok. River! Come here!" I know he will hear me because he always does, also the window is open. Clive stands up to meet River as he comes out of the house. "What is..." River begins, but when he sees Clive, he freezes to the spot.
"Hi" Clive smiles.
"Hello" grins River. They walk towards each other and embrace. I hear both boys whisper "I love you", and I smile.
Then I swim deep under the water to give them some time alone. It's still not alright between River and me, but at least he and Clive are on good terms.
Pondering over my thoughts, I pause half way through swimming, and think; what would I have done if I was River? The answer is clear as soon as I think of the question, I would have been as angry as a Troll is hungry, which is a big thing, because Trolls eat every second until they are deceased.
Before I reach the bottom of the pool, I see a shadow dancing along the sand. It's Reds shadow.
I swim up as fast as I can, and when I reach the top, I see him landing on the paved floor. "It's good to be back!" He says, stretching his arms "River, who might this be?". Red makes his wings fold away, and he sits beside me on the pools edge, grinning his lopsided grin. "This is Clive, my boyfriend" River exclaims, holding Clive's hand tight.
"It's nice to meet you Clive" Red extends his arm, and shakes Clive's hand.
"The pleasures all mine" Clive smiles.
River and Clive walk inside together, talking and laughing.
"That's true love" Red tells me, pointing to the couple.
