She tried calling Lindsey again the second she hung up on the conversation, but knew it would be futile. He was ignoring her, that much was obvious. Pacing around the room, clinging to her phone like a lifeline, she knew she had to see him. Now. She'd camp outside his room if necessary. Acting more on gut than reason, she called a very confused Karen and told her to send her a car. Immediately. No questions asked. Her feet running to the elevator before she'd even hung up.

Doors opening at the reception area, she looked around with a slight panic. She wasn't really used to go anywhere public alone, and now she was pretty much exposed. A few dedicated fans seemed to have found out where she stayed, and she suddenly wished she had worn something to hide herself with. Too late, as they had already seen her. Ignoring them as they approached, she quickly located the exit, striding towards it with absolute determination. She didn't get far. The sight of the figure who hurried through the main doors stopped her dead in her tracks, paralyzing her from head to toe. He saw her at the same time, his body too seemingly frozen at the sight.

They both stood as if suspended in time, eyes locked on each other. Her face already crumpling at the expression etched across his. She'd never seen so much hurt and hatred there, even during their lowest of lows. Those eyes. So many times she'd seen them burning with fire for her, but never like this. Carefully taking a step forward, as if approaching a wounded wild animal, her hands instinctively reached for him.

"Lindsey"

So sorry for the lack of updates the last (Yikes!) 3 months. Hopefully there's still some interest in this story. Do have every intention of finishing it, so this was a quick little update to get it going again. Should have the next part up in a few days!
