HIs lips pulls away from mine and he stares into my eyes, and in that moment I can read every emotion.

Fear, excitement, happiness, love, concern, worry.

Before I can say anything, before I can ask him why he just kissed me, and how long he's felt like this, there's a knock on his door.

"Yo yo, Channing you in there ?"

"We're bored out of our minds and it's snowing outside too hard to play hockey."

"Can we chill here." I hear the three distinct voices that I'm so used to hearing.

"Quick, under the covers, pretend you're sleeping." I do as I'm told, for the most part because I don't want to argue with him.

His covers are so soft and so warm, that I could have fallen asleep, but I want to hear their conversation.

I hear Channing walk over to his door and swing it open.

"Shh. She's sleeping." I imagine him with his index finger in front of his lips.

His lips that just kissed my lips.

"Oh shit sorry." They all walk in and I can feel their presence all around the room.

Someone sits on the bed, I don't know who but they sit close to me.

"How long has she been sleeping ?" Elliot asks. I feel Channing pushing his homework aside. He's the one sitting on the bed.

"Since I dropped her off at lunch." He says.  I can tell he's lying by the fact that I know that I haven't been sleeping for that entire time, and also because his voice is slightly higher pitched than normal.

"Damn. I've never slept that much when I've gotten concussions." Owen says.

"So while she's asleep, we need to discuss something." Colby announces. I can feel Channing shift, almost like he's nervous, towards me on the bed.

"What is it ?" Channing asks, trying to get the conversation to move along.

"The winter formal is coming." Colby begins. If my eyes were open they would be wide right now. So wide that a fly could fly into my eyeball and position itself behind it.

The winter formal, is the second biggest dance of the year, next to the Prom. The only time of year that girls go crazy over their dress and nails and hair. Oh the hair. It's the dance that takes up all of the conversations in the halls as soon as the posters are put up, which I assume was done today, after I left.

It's also the time when people tend to find dates, maybe boyfriends and girlfriends, who would be more then glad to go to prom with. The winter formal is a huge deal at my school and it's also one of the dances that I haven't been too at all.

If I end going this year, I can say that that winter formal was my first and last high school dance.

"Yeah what about it ?" Channing asks.

"Ugh you're so dumb Channing." Owen says. I feel a change in pressure in the air and I click that Owen has stood up.

"One of us is going to take Elina." He explains. My heart speeds up at the fact that they're talking about me... and not only me but the idea of one of them taking me to Winter Formal.

Please let it be Channing. Please, please, please.

"I will!" All four boys yell in unison. I almost start laughing at the fact that  these boys are fighting over me.

That has certainly never happened.

"I'll take her." Channing says, breaking the awkward silence.
