DANIELLE'S POV

After I got off work the next day, I went home and had dinner.

Around seven, I went over to Brody's

I'm walking in the door now. Keith is in the living room.

"Be quiet." He whispers. "He's drawing. He's been in there for hours. Don't make him lose focus."

Nodding, I go upstairs and peek into my boyfriends room.

He's sitting at his desk, erasing something. He brushes the shavings away and continues drawing.

It's in pencil.

I've never seen him draw before.

I push the door a little, and it creaks.

His hand immediately freezes and he whips around.

His eyes widen.

"Get out!" he says.

Startled, I step out of the room.

I hear papers shuffling and his desk drawer slams, and then he walks out of the room and puts his hands on either side of my head, pinning me to the wall.

"What did you see?"

"Nothing." I say.

"You didn't see what I was doing? You swear?"

"I mean-"

"Fuck!" he seems frustrated.

"I didn't see what you were drawing!" I say. "I'm sorry!"

"You didn't see what I was drawing?" he asks.

"No." I whisper.

"Okay." He smiles. "Good."

"I'm sorry." I mumble, upset.

"Don't be. I'm not mad." He kisses me.

I kiss him back.

"What's the big deal anyways?" I mumble against his lips.

"It's just...it's our future and I'm not ready for you to see it yet."

"Okay." I whisper. I respect that. I hook my finger in his beltloops and pull him flush against me.

He rests his forehead against mine.

I release his jeans and wrap my arms around him.

His shirt is a soft, loose material.

"Dani." He whispers. I lift my head to meet his eyes. "I love you." He whispers. "I haven't said it to your face. Not really."

I just kiss him.

I don't say it back. I don't want to unless I'm positive I feel the same way.

He kisses me back.

I start to deepen it, but his phone starts ringing.

There's a soft sound of our lips separating, and he pulls his phone from his pocket.

It's his Mom.

He rests his forehead on mine.

"Yeah?"

He listens for a while. "Alright. Yes, she's with me. Ten minutes." He hangs up.

"Courtney is having some sort of breakdown and she wants you and I there."

His sister is only sixteen.

Nodding, we leave, taking my car.

We're there in ten minutes.
