Kory's POV
"Come on!" Kerry shouts at me trying to drag me out of the party.

"Coming!" I say in a sing song voice. I'm so wasted.

"Do you need a ride home or are you able to walk, because i'd rather not kill us both and I was planning on leaving my car here and coming back for it tomorrow?" my best friend asks. I giggle and assure her that I'm fine, promising to call her when i get back to my apartment.

I take off my shoes and start walking down the pitch back road away from the house party. I decide to take a few back roads so i don't have to cross any busy streets and risk getting hit by a car. I avoided the "bad" areas and decided to go through a quiet neighborhood about 4 blocks from my house.

I sway back and forth as I walk, unable to walk steadily due to the mass amount of alcohol I had consumed in the past few hours. I reach into the back pocket of my skinny jeans and pull out my phone. 2:14 am.

I look around and realize I have no clue where the hell I am. Great.  I look back down at my phone to unlock it then pull up Google Maps and type my address in. It's a 5 minute drive, But a 29 minute walk. Sweet. It tells me to take a left, so I do. I take a few more turns and my feet start to ache and they are freezing cold might I add and I happen to be  barefoot. I see a bench next to a small playground so I wobble over to it and plop down. I start to giggle to myself as I think about the stupid things I had down prior to being here. My giggling is suddenly interrupted by the sound of deep voices in the distance. I look up from my lap and search the premises, not noticing anything out of the ordinary but the voices remain. I jump as a gunshot echoes through the quiet neighborhood. I then see a shadow dash across the street and i stay frozen, glued to the metal park bench. I rush to unlock my phone but my intoxicated mind is cloudy so I fumble and drop it onto the sidewalk with a crunch. I would probably be a lot more frightened if I were sober. The dark figure stops in the street and looks in my direction, I am unable to see his face due to the limited lighting but the way he stands with such pomposity, even my intoxicated mind can register that he is not someone that you should mess with.

As his dark face continued to stare at me, studying my every move, trying to decipher what I will do next. As was I.

I did the only thing I could possibly think to do. I ran.

Sorry that it's short and it sucks but trust me it will get better and soon! And there's some exciting stuff coming up!!:):):):):):):):):):):)
