"You have got to be kidding me!" I threw up the hand that wasn't holding the phone to my ear, "this is ridiculous. I want to speak to your manager."

I made sure the blanket was snug around me before taking a long drag from my cigarette, holding it in my lungs before slowly releasing. I rested my head back against the couch cushion and sighed when the classical music came on the other end, closing my eyes.

"I thought you quit."

My eyes opened and instantly met moss green ones. His eyebrow was raised and a mug was held in both hand. I sighed again when he rounded the couch, putting the cocoa on the coffee table in front of us and moved my legs to just place them back on top of him when he sat down.

"Yeah, well, when the damn gas company turns off your heat when you paid the bill and your landlord won't fix the hot water, there's a reason to smoke." I muttered, placing the butt against my lips again. He made a face when I inhaled;

"Gross. I'm not kissing you until you wash out your mouth."

"You say that now, but you can't resist this sexay thang," the smoke lazily trailed from my mouth as I spoke, doing a gesture down my body with the cigarette.

His facial expression stayed bland, "oh, I will do my best."

I rolled my eyes before looking at the clock. Eight thirty-five. "What're you up so early for?"

"Well, I thought it wouldn't be fair to sleep while you talk to the gas company. And it's too cold to be comfortable when your body heat isn't there." he rested his head against the back of the couch, gazing at me, "and people are coming over, remember?"

"Ah, shit." I ashed the stick, "I totally forgot about that. What time?"

"Nine o'clock."

I sighed. "If their kids make another mess, I will bust a gasket. Do you know how long it took to clean the kitchen last time?"

"Yeah, because I'm the one who did."

"Eh? Oi, I helped."

"You watched."

I looked at him from the corner of my eye, "sheesh, you're making me sound like an awful person."

His hand reached up and rubbed his face, "sorry," he glanced to the side, "I've been booking shows all over the U.S last night, barely got any sleep. The band is psyched to go on tour again, but we might not be able to get a bus this time. We'll have to rent a car, or something. We can't just not tour this year, the fans will be heart broken."

I frowned at just the thought. I finished the cigarette whilst he was talking, so it was long gone in the ash tray on the coffee table by the hot cocoa, "what has Rory been doing?"

"She's been helping with the shows and stuff. I basically just look in the info where we want to play and she calls them up. I'm sure she wanted to kill herself last night because she stayed up so late helping me with calls."

I nodded, "being a band manager must suck."

He sighed, "you're not wrong." his fingers rubbed in between his eyes before falling back onto my leg, "what time does the landlord get here to fix the water pipe?"

"He said sometime in the afternoon," I glanced at the clock again; eight fifty-one, "and they're going to be here soon."

"Then I should start child-proofing the house, then," he lifted my legs when he got up, letting them fall back down. He grabbed his hot chocolate and took a long drink of it before heading out to the kitchen, leaving me alone again.
