The next morning Danny's eyes felt heavy and sleep deprived. She pulled into a nearby diner, her and Christopher got out of the car and she locked it. Christopher ran over to her and grabbed her hand. She looked down at him and smiled. "Two?" The lady asks them. Danny nods and smiles.
She brought Danny and Christopher to a booth and gave them menus. "Your waitress will be with you in minute." She says smiling and walking back to the door. "Alright, bud what do you want." Danny says looking down at the menu. "Uhhhh pancakes and bacon!" He says happily. Danny smiles "alrighty" still looking at the menu.
She ordered for Christopher and herself then sat back and occupied herself with a newspaper on the table. She reads a headline about a kidnapping close to L.A and becomes interested so started to read the article. "Look Danny", Christopher say holding up his kids menu with the clothing page on it. "Wow, that's awesome!" She says looking at the tiger he had colored in.
When their waitress came back with their food they ate quickly so they could get back on the road. As she was driving her mind traveled back to the article she had read earlier. She shifted a little in the drivers seat, getting uncomfortable thinking about it. "Are we almost there," Christopher ask d surprising her. He hadn't asked that the whole ride.
"We are getting pretty close now bud" she answers looking at him in the mirror.
He smiles and looks out the window humming something to himself. Danny turned the radio on so he could sing along to whatever was on. "Sugar" by Maroon 5 came on and his lips cracked into a huge grin. He started singing at the top of his lungs,so she smiled and joined him.
Next thing She knew she saw red and blue lights flashing behind me. Danny pulled over so he could pass, but to her surprise he pulled off behind her. He gets out his squad car and taps on the window Danny takes a deep breath and rolls it down.
