She stood there nervously and watched his face spread into the widest grin she'd ever seen.
"You look beautiful."
Head down, she didn't reply.
"Are you hungry?"
She shook her head no.
"Are you thirsty?"
She repeated her actions.
"Alright. Do you just want to sit and talk?"
She did nothing, she still felt uncomfortable and embarrassed.
She didn't object however when his hands took her own and led her to his bed where he laid her down lightly before laying down beside her.
"Just..." his face looked pained, "Are you ok?"
She nodded.
"Ok? Want to hear something funny?"
He didn't give her any time to answer.
"Are you made of Copper and Terrelium 'cause you are cute."
Silence.
"Alright. If you were a triangle you'd be acute one."
Still nothing.
"Do you have a tower because Eiffel for you."
Her eyes lighting up at that one but she still kept a poker face.
"No? Alright, I guess I'll have to try harder." He though for a moment. "I know.
I thought happiness started with 'H', why does mine start with you?"Her eyes brighened.
"Why is Peter Pan always flying?
Because he Neverlands."Her lips twitched at that one.
"If I were a super hero can you guess which one I'd be?
Your man."She smiled.
And then he said it.
"The past, present and future all walked into a bar. It was tense."
And it broke her. And she couldn't help but laugh. And she liked it.
