Dear Diary,

10/7/14

I saw him again. The man with the long brown hair and blue eyes. He was in my dreams. This time he was sitting in a tree, I swear he was watching me.
He saved me.

The demon was trying to attack me but before it could reach me he pulled it off me and I woke up.

Every time before I can thank him or talk to him, I wake up.

I wish I could talk to him. He's a mystery to me.

What am I talking about? I'm getting worked up over a guy in my dreams!

Shows you how much I need a real boyfriend.

It was the same demon. The lady in the white dress. I dont know why I keep seeing her. Does it mean something?

I want to ask dad but he's always really busy with his job. Plus he'll probably call me a baby or something. I mean I'm 18 years old and I'm still having nightmares.

I've had them every night since the night my mother died in the fire accident. Stupid candles. Dad won't let us have candles in the house not that I don't blame him.

My mind keeps going back to the guy I always see. He's beautiful. Though I know he has to be way older than me. Oh well it's just a dream. What a silly little world we live in.

Kate shuts her diary and sighs, leaning across her bed to put her diary on her nightstand.

The clock on her wall reads '8:00'. Time to go to school. It's her senior year, she thanks god for it. She can't wait to be out of school and get a house of her own.

Kate has a job at a small town cafe called 'Marks'. Simple. Super simple.

Kate groans as she throws the covers off her, causing her to then shiver at the coldness without the blanket.
She was only in a long tee shirt and underwear.

She grabs her clothes for the day. Which was only leggings and flannel. Her usual outfit.

Ever so slowly, Kate stumbles to the bathroom and turns the shower on. Full heat is what she likes. The burning on her skin reminds her she's still alive and human. Along with the several scars across her wrists that she covers up with band bracelets or long sleeve shirts.

As the scorching hot water cascades over her body, Kate starts to sing one of her favorite songs.

If you loved me,
Why'd you leave me.

Take my body.
Take my body.

And all I want is.
All I need is.

To find somebody
I'll find somebody.

Like you.
Oh.

Youuuu.
Like you.

.....

Norman sat on her bed as Kate showered. He kept alert for any threats that roam around outside.
He smiled when her heard Kate's beautiful voice singing her favorite song.

He knew it was her favorite. He's heard her sing it many many times before. Aloud and in her head.

Norman loves her voice. He wished she could say his name out loud for him. He longs to hear it slip off her tongue.

He's aware that it's a fat chance. Unless she runs into someone with the same name.

Norman sighs and runs a hand over his face. He just wants her to know about him.

His head snaps up and he noticed the shower was no longer running and her singing had stopped.

The sound of the door creaking open was heard and Norman quickly.. Very quickly. With his super speed, hid in her closet and made sure he was invisible.

The closet was creaked open and he closed his eyes, hoping she had put clothes on in the bathroom.

No matter how much Norman wanted Kate to be his.. He would never watch her get dressed. He was a gentleman when it came to stuff like that and he would never want to see her body unless her permission was granted.

He heard the chair to her desk pull out and he sighed. She was dressed. She never puts make up on until she was dressed.

Norman opens his eyes and watches her. He never understood why she felt the need to put make up on. Her face was beautiful without it.

The one thing that absolutely killed Norman was watching Kate harm herself every night and cry herself to sleep.

He had to watch that and if tore at him. He wanted to comfort her. He was supposed to protect her. Though it is only physical protection.. He feels the need to protect her from herself.. Her feelings, her emotions, the voices in her head. Her nightmares. He watches her toss and turn all night. Sweating and crying. One night, he found a way to get into her dreams and fight off the demons there too. Now, if only he could get her to stop hurting herself.

He knows why she does it. Of course he does, he knows everything about her and everything she thinks.

She thinks she's not good enough because she doesn't have a boyfriend yet. She thinks she's annoying and difficult to be around because she only has two friends. She thinks she could've saved her mom. Only if she knew a candle wasn't the problem.

Now you may think it's weird for Norman to know her so much and be that close to her without her knowing him. It may sound stalker-ish. But that was his job and it was all he knew. 24/7 he had to protect her. He wasn't allowed to have any friends. So he hasn't had a girlfriend in several years.

His group was an odd group. The weren't named. Vampires have a name.. Werewolves.. Witches.

Norman was something along those lines except they didn't have names. Didn't have stereotypes or movies about them. The human race had no knowledge of there existence.  Well besides a few select people who are acquainted with the council.

Norman didn't have parents. None of the soldiers did. The soldiers are trained to fight demons since the age of 6.. Then they are sold by their rankings.

Some get sold when their 20.. 18.. 25.

Norman got sold when he was 46... Since he got sold when he was 46 he stays 46 for eternity.

Norman hates this life. He just wants human love. Human emotion. He can't even touch a human. All he does is fight.

But Kate makes it worth it for him. He lives for her. His girl.
