Disappearing Part 1

This fanfic is inspired by a song called 'When You Sleep' by Mary Lambert. Characters shed lots of tears in this fanfic. I'm sure you wouldn't. Wrote the whole thing but will keep it for suspense.

Toby was walking in the snow in heavy jackets, googles and gloves, breathing heavily. Masky had asked him to walk with him, somewhere, in the snow. Toby shivered as he hugged himself. No matter how much he wanted to snuggle by the fire with Smile and Grinny, he wanted to spend some time with his love.

Masky noticed the shivering adult beside him so wrapped his arm round Toby, using his body heat to warm Toby up. They walked like this for a while into the forest and reached a crooked tree.

Masky let go of Toby and turned to him, looking into his dark eyes before...

He got onto one knee...

And...

Pulled out a small box...

When he opened it...

It was...

a...

ring. Toby gasped, tears rolling down his face. Before Masky could ask the most important and valuable question in his life, Toby yelled, "YES!"

Toby jumped onto Masky and pulled him into a tight embrace, almost toppling both of them onto the snowy ground. Toby cheered, "Yes," over and over again until he was tired.

Masky seemed happy and hugged his loved one back.

But is it real?

Masky looked at Toby, who seemed to be fading from his hands. Masky tried grabbing for Toby but his hands just went through him.
