He reminded me of a story,
A fairy tale I heard long ago,
About a prince and a princess,
Falling in love and taking the world on,
A blend of ink filled pages,
Just waiting to be read,
A story for every young girl's heart,
A dream-like fantasy of love,
With every story comes an end,
Whether bad or good,
His story,
Our story,
Ended,
The princess fell in love with no prince,
But a snake cleverly winding its way to her heart,
To harvest the treasure in the valley,
A misinterpretation by the heart,
An ignored plea and warning from the mind,
Tears of the elite,
A lesson to learn in every story heard.
