Panting, the two scaled the metal fence with no problem, the younger of the pair wincing when a patch of exposed skin made contact with the barbed wire that lined the fences edge. Stupid long arms. My sleeves are never long enough.
"Crud. Are you okay?" His partner asked. He nodded but stumbled when he landed on the ground, an uncharacteristic mistake.
"Hey, hey! Don't drop that! We have to bring that back to those guys if we want in on that money." He was chasted by his blonde partner, who suddenly grabbed hold of his uninjured wrist and pulled him down onto the ground behind a uselessly slim tree as floodlights panned across the area.
The pitch of the sirens was an irritating sound to both young men, and they gladly used the darkness to cover their tracks as they purposefully stamped in random places as a method of distraction before using their normal, lighter way of moving to leave the area surrounding the dorm facility they had just stolen documents from.
Having reached the place they needed to drop the documents, the two collapsed onto the steps in front of the building, exhausted from the adrenaline rush that had overtaken them. Looking over, the older of the pair silently reached over to take his partner's wrist in his hand, scrutinising it.
"I'm sorry this happened. Just a little longer, yeah? We can quit this stupid way of living and start again, as new people, alright?" He murmured assuringly. The younger glanced back at him, his expression emotionless but his partner knew he was happy enough with the answer.
"So, you're here. Do you have them?" A light voice caused them both to turn around. Leaning on the frame of the doorway were the men the two had initially thought were their juniors, since they were both easily towered over.
The taller of the two had peach coloured hair that added to his prepubescent look, but the deadly aura he had given off when the two had mocked him was something truly terrifying. Nodding, the blonde of the two giants indicated to the bag. The smaller one, the one that the two had learned was the eldest among this new pair, gestured for them to enter, the peach haired male entering in after them.

Throwing the briefcase with all the documents onto a wooden coffee table, the older of the tall pair made even eye contact with the peach haired youth.
"There. We got the information on all the girls, with pictures in colour as well as all their health records. This is the last one you wanted."
"Good." The elder stated, remaining in his position on his chair.
"It's so great that you think so. Where's our money?" The blonde demanded, wanting to get out of this quickly. The faster we get the cash, the quicker we get to reaching our goal.
"Ah, ah, ah. You should already know that we have to select and then get these girls' names to the specialists and have them bring them to us. We're still waiting to hear back from them." The baby faced male said
"And how long, exactly, do you presume that is going to take?" The blonde asked, his ears unbelieving.
"Hn. Go and take care of your friend. Much as I love young blood, I'm not interested if it's male." The elder snorted, rising to leave the room, his peach haired colleague in tow.
Frustrated, the blonde youth turned his attention to his partner, who was just watching him.
"So, what do we do now?"
"We'll just have to wait. He said I should take care of you, so I'm assuming he means we can stay here for a while." The blonde said, leaning over to inspect his friend's arm again.
"Think that's safe?" The younger asked.
"Safe? We're probably in more danger here than we would be in a cell." The blonde snorted, walking over to a set of cupboards to look for a first aid kit.
"Hey? Just a little while longer, right?" The younger of the pair patted his colleague as he got to bandaging his wrist. The elder sent him what he hoped was a reassuring smile, but said nothing as he proceeded with his task.
The sound of impatient banging shattered the temporary peace the pair had found for themselves.
"Open this door!" The two looked at each other sharply. That wasn't the voice of either of the men they had just been with.
"Under warrant of the Seoul Metropolitan police, if you deny us entry, we are lawfully permitted to break this door down!" The blonde swallowed and panned across the area, immediately trying to figure out a means of escape.
"The police?" The younger of the two lifted his uninjured hand up to stop his partner from pacing too much and rose.
"This is your last chance to open the door!" The thundering on the door continued and the two knew it was only a matter of time.
"Where the hell are those two? Did they tip off the cops and jet? Shit, those bastards!" The blonde cursed when there was no movement or sign from the older pair. Either they had done as the blonde assumed or they were trying to keep quiet in order to prevent detection. Both ways, they had abandoned the younger pair and left them completely at the hands of the people they had running from for so long.
"Hey, hey. Look, if we can get into the next room, it has a window that leads into that little gap between this building and the next. It might hurt your wrist a little but if we can crab shuffle up the gap using the walls, we can get onto the roof and-" the blonde stopped when he saw his younger partner send him a gentle smile. A smile.
"We both knew we'd get caught, even if we did try to disappear. Someone would figure out or we'd feel too much guilt and hand ourselves in. I want to take this time to say that I'm grateful that I got to be your partner in crime for a while."
"What are you talking about? Why are you speaking like that?" The blonde youth didn't look at him, still trying to find alternative routes out.
"Knowing how they work, they'll probably separate us because we've been able to run too far ahead for so long that if they put us in the same place, we would have more opportunity to escape to commit greater crimes. At least by separating us, we would have to find each other first. That would give them enough time to catch up to one of us at least, and put us down for good."
Sucking his bottom lip and releasing it, the young brunet held his hand out. The older blonde shook it, still looking around, a sense of cold understand creeping over him. The room was fast filling with armed officers, but the brown haired youth remained calm, even as he was grabbed and handcuffed.
"I'm glad that I didn't have to go through this on my own. I'm glad that I had you to watch my back and I'm glad you trusted me enough to watch yours." His voice became a little strained when his hair when grabbed roughly in an attempt to silence him.
"I mean it when I say I'm thankful that you kept up the energy hype even though I know you often felt upset too. At least we weren't alone together. Try not to get lonely. You have the type of personality people like, and if it hadn't turned out like this, I'm pretty sure your social rank would be amazing. So just keep drawing people near, okay?"
"Stop it! Stop talking like that!" The blonde looked desperate as he was pushed out of the door. He felt all hope seep out of him when he noticed that two seperate police vans, from differing provinces, were stationed in front of the building. His partner was right. They did plan on separating them. He caught sight of the older pair crouched beside the stairwell to the building and made eye contact with the elder of the two.
Look what you've done to us. He wanted to yell or struggle but his mind still wasn't registering what was happening.
"Don't forget your first friend, okay?" He heard the muffled sound of his partner- his friend calling out before the door to the van was slammed shut and the one light the blonde had been clutching onto also shattered and left him in darkness.
