A few minutes later, I came running to Marc, who sat in the living room. No sign of my dad...good... I kneel down in front of Marc.

"Marc, what'd he tell you?" I ask, worriedly.

At first, he didn't answer. The look on his face said everything. I'm sure Dad had told him, somewhat, the same thing as he did me.

"He..he told me to leave you." Marc stuttered.

Tears stung my eyes, I knew this was coming. Just the thought, gave me chills. I don't want to lose him. Marc is my everything and I will fight, until death for him.

"A-are you?" I ask, afraid of his answer.

"I'd never leave you behind." He smiled down on me.

Marc lifted his hand to my face, wiping the tears that fell from my eyes. I stood up and sat down on Marc's lap. His arms wrapped around my waist, as his head laid on my chest.

"No matter how much he tries, or how much he yells, all I care about is here. The sound of your heart beating against my eardrum." Marc sighed, listening to my chest.

"And when it stops?" I ask.

"I'll never be the same. I'd be the murderer of the block. I'd be the looney bird in an insane asylum. This is a promise. And when I find no fun in that, I'll stop my heart from ever beating again." Marc promised.

I like my odds. Everything about them.

In silence, we sit. Peace and quietness.

~~a year later~~

Over the year, it's been a little rough, but we got through it. Dad still wanted Demarcus and I to stop seeing each other, but it never happened. Marc used his charm and skill to get Dad to see that he's the one for me. Dad finally gave in and let us keep dating.

The day after Marc and I got caught together, my dad took me to be tested. He threatened that if I was pregnant, that Marc and I would have to break up. Then, I disagreed. If Marc and I were to have a baby, he'd have to be there for me and the baby too.

After I had been tested, it came out positive. Dad blew the biggest gasket is ever seen. Minutes later, the nurse that had tested me, came out and said that she'd given us the wrong results. Mine actually came out negative.

Since that day, Marc and I haven't done anything like that. We've never went that far again.

In the end, everything turned out okay. Today is Marc's birthday and I'm planning something special. I'll take a video of myself, telling him sweet things going through the tower. At one point, I'll stand on the balcony and tell him to meet me there. I'll send the video to his phone and he'll watch it and find me.

On my seventeenth birthday, this year, Marc took me out to a beautiful restaurant, dancing, and just driving around the city. For one of my presents, he got me a selfie stick for my phone. Which I've never really had use for, besides cute selfies of Marc and I, but I'll use it today.

As of right now, it's only seven in the morning. Marc hasn't got up yet, which is why I'm recording the video right now. Taking out the selfie stick, I put my phone in it and hold it away from my face. The shot captures from the top of my head, to my waist. I begin walking down the hallway.

And record.

"Why, hello, love." I smile to the camera.

"I just want to say thank you... Thank you for giving me a meaning to life. Everything and anything I ever wanted. My life is perfect only because you're in it." I stop, open a door to the next room and keep going.

"I want to thank you for giving me a love that consumes me, along with passion, and adventure. I couldn't ask for anything more, except that it lasts forever." I look from the hallway and back at the camera.

"I love you Marc. Happy Birthday! And I can't wait till you see your present!!" I squeal in excitement.

Taking a longer way to the top, so that the video could last longer, I go down another corridor and take a different elevator.

"Just so you know, this birthday, will be the best one you ever had... You can thank me for that." I laugh.

Once out of the elevator, I began walking down the hallway that led to the top of the towers room, with the balcony.

As I was about to talk, Nick Fury, came bursting through one door to the right.

"Hey Nick." I greet.

The camera still rolls, I'll have to cut this out of the video.

"Stephanie... I've been meaning to tell you something for a few years now, and now that no one else is around, I can tell you." Fury says, nonchalantly.

I roll my eyes toward the camera.

"What is it?" I ask.

"Ever since you've gotten your powers, there's been nothing, but trouble. I started thinking, ever since then, that you're the reason everything bad happens." He answered.

"What?" I ask.

"I meant to banish you a long time ago.....but now, I can do it myself." He hissed.

Nick grabbed his gun, aimed it at me, and shot...six times. Before anything, Fury ran off. My breathing quickened and I fell to the ground. I let go of everything and put my hands up to the bullet wounds in my chest.

All of a sudden, I could hear footsteps down the corridor next to this one.

"Hello?" I could hear Marc's voice echo.

"I heard gun shots, everything okay?" He called.

Then, Marc came around the corner, finding me, laying in my own blood.

"Stephanie! No, no, no.." He brought my body in his hold, rocking back and forth.

"I love you, Demarcus." I stutter, shaking.

"No! Don't you do that!" He demanded, "don't you say your goodbyes."

"I love you so much." I say in a whisper.

Her heart started to slow down. Her vision, fading. Her sight, turning to darkness. Her breaths becoming deeper and deeper. Marc held Stephanie in his arms. Bullet holes all around her chest, one, directly at her heart. Marc was watching her die.

Her eyes, falling gradually. She couldn't hold on any longer. As she took her last breaths, her last words, were "I love you."

"Steph? Stephanie?" He said, through gritted teeth.

He pushed the hair from her face, glaring at a lifeless Stephanie. She's gone.
