I walked into the school building and was greeted by PJ's beautiful, warm smile. "Hello gorgeous," I smiled. She walked over and wrapped her small arms around me, hugging me. I hugged back, before grabbing her hand and intertwining our fingers. I walked her to her first period kissing her on the cheek lightly as I began to leave.
"Bye Hazz," She waved, then walked into her class. She was my sunshine, and I loved her. I sighed happily before walking to my first period, just as the bell rang. I sat in my desk, as the teacher stood up and continued on about our review of polynomials.
About half way through class, I got a small paper and scribbled, 'Wanna hang after school?' then turned to my side, attempting to hand it to te person next to me, which was usually Katt. Instead of her, there was another girl, Trienah, I'm pretty sure her name was.
Figuring that Trienah just got to Katt's seat before she did, I looked about the room, hoping to find her. She was nowhere to be found. Stumped, I checked the time. 10 minutes left of class. I remembered yesterday, how Katt seemed pretty upset about something. She told me she didn't want to talk about it, so I let it drop, but I started to regret that decision. Did something happen at home?
I went on with the rest of class, guilt and worry clouding over me. I constantly watched the clock, wishing the seconds would tick by faster. As soon as the bell rang, I darted out of class, pushing past Niall and his group.
"Whoa, Whoa," Louis stopped me. "What's your rush? Wanna see PJ?" he smirked.
"No," I answered truthfully, "I have something more important to take care of," I explained, pushing past him and rushing out into the crowded hallways.
I ran out to my car and hopped in. I started the car and screeched out of the parking lot, desperate to get to Katt's house. I roughly remembered how to get to her house. At first, I thought I was lost, but I got back on track quickly. I sped into her driveway and jumped out of the car, running to her front door. I knocked furiously, hoping for an answer. After ten seconds of nothing, I barged in worriedly.
Your kisses lift me higher
Like the sweet song of a choir
You light my morning sky
With burning love
Ooh, ooh, ooh,
I feel my temperature rising
Help me, Im flaming
I must be a hundred and nine
Burning, burning, burning
And nothing can cool me
I just might turn into smoke
But I feel fine
Cause your kisses lift me higher
Like a sweet song of a choir
And you light my morning sky
With burning love
"Katt?" I walked into the kitchen slowly, and saw her, still in her pajamas, singing and playing guitar with the broom. I chuckled softly as she looked up, turning beet red.
"Oh! Harry.. Erm.. Hi."
"Well hello there Katt. Decided to play hooky today, did we?" I spoke, a smirk playing on my face.
She laughed awkwardly. "Well, ya see, I was up late playing with Nathaniel and Tucker and I missed the bus and my sister was at work and I didn't want to-"
I walked over to her and grabbed her smaller hands and started dancing to the song on the radio, laughing the whole time. She was a wonderful friend, but my curiosity began to overtake me.
As I twirled her, I asked, "Who is Nathaniel and Tucker, anyway?" Her smiled brightened and she grabbed my right hand and walked me up to her room. There were fairy lights everywhere, twinkling in the dim light.
"These little guys!" She exclaimed, gesturing to a wooden box on her floor. In the box were two small turtles, one with an N and one with a T written in nail polish on their shells. She picked up the one with the N on it's shell and handed him to me.
"This is Nathaniel, he loves everyone," then she picked up the one with the T, and added, "And this is Tucker. He loves food. Not so much humans, but he loves me."
I smiled and watched her as she put her little pets back in their captivity, and looked at me. "They used to be my best friends," She explained. "Well, that is, until you came."
