Charlotte

Demons.

What in the world were demons doing in a fae school? A fae school with magical wards and spells cast up to block out creatures of the darkness such as DEMONS.

And most of all, what were demons doing out in broad daylight?!?!?!

A million questions raced through Charlotte's mind, but there was simply no time to ask them, that was soon uncovered when Cal pulled her by the hand.

"Come on Charlotte, don't just stand there, run before the demons get to us" He yelled, fear held in his voice with every word, fear and concern, for her.

With no such reluctance, she took off with Cal and spotted Kanishka, Niki and Eileen already in front of them with terrified faeries taking off.

Screams filled the room, doors slamming as they entered into any room they could find, mostly the Magic rooms, staff rooms, workshop rooms and cooking rooms.

Faeries had a very strong common sense that many humans didn't when they panicked, like when Charlotte's old school had a major robbery, students had to be told to hide in good places, but faeries they would instantly know which room had the equipments to hide them and equipments that could defend themselves.

Charlotte flinched everytime she heard a scream being cut off by the munching of a demon, she was on the verge of tears but pushed them aside as she followed Cal and her friends into the main staff room.

Professors were already by doors casting spells and working their magic to fend off all the demons as student faeries headed into their supposed sanctuaries.

"Get inside quickly, all of you" A sharp voice commanded, Charlotte looked up and saw Madam Elvorn gesturing for everyone to get in.

Cal huffed impatiently, everyone had to slow down in the doorway because there was trouble pushing through the doorways.

Mr. Stanley came running from the right hand side corridors with an imp in his hand.

"Mielba" He addressed Madam Elvorn almost breathlessly

"What is it Samuel?" She asked him distractedly as she sent out a shock wave to the demons.

"This Imp here has surrendered to us and has offered to spill the reason of the demon's dwelling here" He back-kicked a Shax demon approaching him from behind and quickly burned it with his fire.

Madam Elvorn looked at Charlotte and quickly turned back to Mr. Stanley

"Give the imp to Ms. Rodrigues here, she'll take it back in, right now I need your fire magic to help" She said with a final tone to her voice.

Mr. Stanley handed the imp to Charlotte, who shrunk back in protest.

"Mr. Stanley, I'm not very experienced, I don't know how to take it" She said nervously and looked gratefully at Cal who took her hand.

"Just hold it by the ears my dear, Imps depends on their ears more than anything else, do not answer it's questions" He tried to sound comforting but that was hard when chaos surrounded everyone.

Charlotte gripped on to the greenish-yellow rough-skinned ears of the imp in disgust and let out a breath of relief when they could finally pass through the doorway.

She spotted two very on edge professors on both sides of the antique wooden table in the center of the room and pushed her way through frightened students to them.

"Excuse me, professors" She called to them above the ruckus of the students.

"What is it child?" The female faery professor demanded frustratedly in her raspy voice, which was odd since faeries were known for their beautiful voices.
