Kanishka

It felt like forever before Kanishka and her two other partners in crime (Charlotte and Niki) dragged themselves out of the dingy backroom even though it really had only been 20 minutes.

The sudden exposure to bright light shining through the windows in the window-filled staff room was almost painful to the three girls, they winced a bit but recovered almost instantly.

They were all linking arms, not really knowing where to go next, the school was already rid of demons, thanks to the conjurance spell the three girls and Cal casted together, so that would mean it didn't really matter where they went, but they were certain the professors and guardians would want to call the whole school together to discuss the sudden turn of events.

Also, to discuss the sudden deaths.

A sadness churned inside Kanishka, an unbearble grief, guilt and blame. She blamed herself for Eileen's death, because Eileen was right next to her when a Behemoth demon took her life away, and Kanishka only realized Eileen was slipping away from her life at last second, when she turned around to meet Eileen's flawless, panic-stricken face and her wide, tear-streaked eyes sink into the demon's mouth, never to return again.

Kanishka tore the demon apart with her earth and spirit-infused dagger in rage and sorrow, but it didn't help, didn't change the fact that Eileen had died.

A flash of brown curls whipped by Kanishka, pulling her out of deep thought.

Cal ran to Charlotte, he almost grabbed her hands but restrained himself, they just looked at each other worriedly.

"Are you alright? What happened in there?" He asked Charlotte nervously

"I don't really know myself, it's so complicated and my head is hurting" She whispered and raised her hands to massage her temples slightly.

Cal's expression softened immediately and detached her from Kanishka and Niki.

"I'll take you to the healers" He offered, tugging gently on her arm.

"Thanks for asking, but we're fine too" Niki said sarcastically and Kanishka elbowed her.

Charlotte smiled wanly at Niki and turned back to Cal "It's alright Cal, the healers probably already have their hands full with the injured faeries" Her smile faded once she said that.

Bless Charlotte, always the gentle and kind one.

Cal started to argue but the sudden look that beamed upon Kanishka's face had the friends questioning.

"Uh oh" Cal said "I know that look" He put his hands on her shoulders, shaking her lightly

"Whatever you thought of, trust me, let's leave it be"

Kanishka shrugged his hands off "Charlotte you already said that many students have been injured from the demon attack right? And that the healers are already super busy with them!"

Charlotte squirmed a bit, not getting the point of this "Yes but what about it?" She asked

"We have the power to heal them!" She exclaimed.

All three faeries stared at her and Niki tilted her head in worry.

"Honey did some Kappa demon graze one of their fangs on you?"

"No knock it off Niki" Kanishka said frustratedly "I'm serious don't you remember what Madam Elvorn said about the spirit element?"

Charlotte and Niki paused to think about this, Cal just looked plain confused.
