Warning: Some violence.

Indrasena stared at the man's outstretched hand, weighing out her options. It was becoming increasingly hard as thoughts of actually eating three meals a day drifted into her mind. With two goldens she'd be rich! Sure Indrasena could end up dead after making the deal, but she was determined to not let that happen.  Anyways, she might end up dead anyway if she had to spend another winter on the streets.

"Well?" he asked, extending his hand further.

Indrasena pushed her doubt into the back of her mind, placing her hand in the man's.

   "Deal." She nodded.

The man grinned as they shook hands.

   "As I thought." He 'smiled'.

He stood.

"Let us not waste any time. When I come back, be ready to...act." He chuckled, going into the same room he had brought the soup from.

Indrasena steeled herself for whatever or whoever he would come back with. The man returned with another man at his side who was carrying a dark haired man over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes. The man slung over his shoulder seemed to be unconscious and his arms and legs were bound. His white shirt was soaked through with blood! Indrasena gasped, horrified. The gold toothed man turned to the the man carrying a person on his shoulders.

"Archer, you know what to do," he said.

Archer nodded and tossed the unconscious man on the ground, near to where Indrasena was sitting. The man sprawled on the ground was obviously the Onerali messenger, with his dark brown hair and olive skin.

   "Yes boss," Archer replied.

The man with the gold tooth sauntered over to Indrasena, leaning down so that his mouth was right by her ear.

   "Don't break character," he whispered.

He laughed as Indrasena jerked away and strode out of the front door, giving a subtle nod to Archer as he exited.

Indrasena turned to Archer, who stood over the bleeding messenger, shaking him awake. Archer looked up and their eyes locked. He looked almost...apologetic? Indrasena opened her mouth to speak, but Archer looked away and scowled, resuming his task. The messenger groaned, stirring. Archer looked at her again.

"He is waking up. You better be ready," he urged.

Indrasena stared at him for a moment and then shook herself. "Think of the goldens! Think of the goldens!" she thought.

The messenger groaned again, this time opening his eyes.

   "Wha-" he started, bewildered.

Archer dragged him to a wall and propped him up facing Indrasena.

"See this little girl? Deliver this message to the king!" Archer shouted.

He then strode over to her and slapped her in the face. Indrasena yelped and jumped out of her chair. Before she could retreat, Archer punched her in the gut, causing her to double over. The messenger shouted something, but Indrasena didn't hear it because Archer kicked her, sending her flying. She hit a wall and slid to the floor, her vision going blurry.

Archer grabbed her up by her shirt, yanking her towards his face, and muttered, "Scream a little."

He then slapped her again, still holding up her small body with a single hand. Indrasena screamed. Archer smiled.

Arthur's Note: Who's Arthur? I dunno, but this is his note. I hope you liked this chapter! :) I think I'm going to start putting autho-I mean, Arthur's notes at the bottom. What do you think? Should I put them at the top, bottom, or side. I have no idea how I'm going to manage side, but I would try for you guys. Although, just saying that side would probably look awful...well then, M.K out. :p
