Luke woke up to the sound of his ringing alarm. Quickly, he rushed to the breakfast table. He barely had had time to chug down his milk and instant noodles. As Luke was eating, he remembered something. In school, he'd learned that ancient people ate meat. How strange it would be to actually eat an animal! Quickly, Luke threw on his jacket and ran out the door.
The school was three miles from his house. Being such a long walk, the soles were coming of Luke's shoes, and his brand new sneakers were falling apart.
" Wish I didn't have to walk." Luke thought. "I remembered reading about bikes and cars. If only we had those."
By the time Luke arrived at school, It was 45 minutes later. He was five minutes late. He caught only part of the announcement on the loudspeaker. "This is only a drill. Remain calm and continue whatever you might have been doing. In 25 minutes, the school will temporarily shut down. No one will enter the building, and no one will leave."
There was a slight gurgling sound, and the loudspeaker turned off.

Although, his classroom was quiet enough, Luke couldn't seem to focus. A strong stench seemed to fill the air. After a while, he started to have trouble breathing (more than usual) and he had developed a small headache. He was about to ask to open the windows, when the power went out. "Strange",he thought. "The power never goes out"!
After several hours, he started to get really creeped out. "Aren't we supposed to have lunch"?
Confused, he pushed the door open, and tried to leave.
