A Hat And a Hook (Peterick)

Part 8

Patrick's POV:

"Jesus christ Pete." I mumble as he shuts the trailer door.

"Jesus christ Patrick, why did you order pizza to have it delivered in the middle of us being romantic?" Pete replies, jokingly.

"Well, I could've let us go hungry, but I'm nice so I ordered delivery, since you like pizza anyway." I snap back, laughing. Pete shoves a slice into his mouth and leaves the box lid open for me as I reach in and grab a slice myself.

Pete proceeds back to the couch, dragging me with him and we both plop down on the blankets. Pete wraps his non pizza-clad arm around me and we eat in silence. After I finish my slice, I break the silence.

"Well this has been an interesting night. Care to stay in my trailer for the night? I mean, it's an awfully long walk back to your trailer, all alone, in the dark, weaponless, in a super dangerous area." I say to Pete sarcastically. Pete nearly chokes on his pizza while laughing, making me laugh too.

"Yes, if you insist, I'll stay." He replies after swallowing his bite. He leans over and kisses me on the cheek, then stands up and brings the rest of the first pizza box over to us.

"Thnks fr th pzza." Pete says, slurring his words to sound like the vowel-less song title from Infinity On High.

"Sure thing." I reply, laughing. I kiss his cheek in return, and we continue eating pizza. It's been such a great day, and an especially great night. My love for Pete is mutual, I now have an addiction to after-shower makeouts, and we're eating pizza together. I couldn't be happier. Pete leans into me, also appearing very happy. There's just good vibes all around.

After finishing my pizza slice, I break the silence and sing out softly into the night.

"Best friends, ex-friends till the end, better off as lovers and not the other way around."
