Look at her, beautiful even while resting.

This is Liam, by the way! I borrowed...stole her diary while she's sleeping. I just want to tell you about what happened a day before our anniversary, I wouldn't want to reminisce, but I'll try to give it a shot.

An avalanche.

A day before our anniversary, me and Juliet we're going to different places.

Juliet has her secret little rendezvous with her college friends.

And I would be going hiking with my bro-pals which I haven't seen in years.

"Goodbye, Juliet, have fun!...and take care of her okay!" I said jokingly to her friends as I drop her off in front of her friend's house, they'll be going somewhere else after that.

I drove to my best friend's house and all of my bro-pals are there waiting.

We gave each other hugs and bro-fists. And we were off to go.

We have reached the bottom of the mountain, and we were going hiking!

As we were going up the mountain, my friends remembered that it's our anniversary tomorrow.

"What would you be doing for her, Liam? We bet that would something expensive...knowing you!" they all agreed and laughed.

"Well, uhm...I'm planning to bring her to the museum." I proudly said.

"What??"

"Are you sure?"

"That's the best you got mate?"

I knew what I have in store for her, so I just gave them a smile.

Well, I was saved by the bell, we reached the mountain top.

"As beautiful as our wives, eh?" one of my friend says describing the magnificent view atop the mountain.

"Not close, but yeah." we all frankly respond.

We stayed on top for more than hour, enjoying the view and storing some energy before we go down.

But we noticed that the clouds were getting dark, so we had to go down immediately.

But before we could even reach halfway, the storm surged, thunders roaring, rain falling down heavily, and some trees already crashing to the ground.

We knew we had to stay strong, our wives are probably out there waiting at home.

We saw a light, there were rescuers.

"Hop in, come on!" they said.

We were 5, and there were only space for 4 men, exceeding the capacity would be too risky.

"Go lads! I think I'll find my way out. Don't worry" I said.

"Are you sure, Liam? We'll wait for you at the bottom." they answered with fear.

"yes...I..I....I'm sure."

They left me with a flashlight and a whistle which would help me as I try to find my way out.

I knew it was a long way to go, long way to go. But I knew I had promises to keep, my wife needs me.

I can't fully described what happened, but it was the scariest thing I've ever experienced.

I tried conditioning my mind while finding my way down.

As I was going down I told myself:

Right from the start, I knew that loving her was an everyday battle, but it's a battle worth fighting....and dying for.

As I told myself that, I saw a light, it was another batch of rescuers. I was saved, but more than that, I'll still get to spend my days with Juliet. Because I don't know which would hurt more, dying or not being able to see her again, but I guess both would feel the same.

As I reached the bottom I saw Juliet waiting in the rain. My friends already gave her a call.

"Liam! babe!" she screams as she gave me the warmest hug amidst the cold rain.

"Are you okay? Weren't you afraid?" she asks.

I'm fine, babe.

I remembered the star I saw that reminded me of her, it was so bright, shining brighter than any other.

You know what, babe? I loved that star too fondly to be afraid.

And besides, can I miss our first anniversary? I joked.

she gave me another hug and kissed me under the light of a thousand stars.

---

Well, that was what happened before our anniversary museum date.

It was scary, but it was all worth it.

Now I've noticed that Juliet always ends her diary entry with a quote, so I'm going to do the same.

"Life it too long to be enjoyed, too short to be wasted."

And I'm glad that I'm getting to spend this life with her.
