Death comes silent through the night. Taking what you feel you are ready for.

Alexis's POV
I'm running, from what I don't know. I continue running for what feels like forever, but is only a few minutes. I stop at a cemetery and walk through looking at the tombstones. I look up from one and see a group of people hugging each other crying.

I'm walking over when I hear, "Why did it have to be my baby girl?" I step in between two of the people and read the tombstone, and automatically take a step back in shock. I turn and look at my friends, all sobbing looking at my grave.

I sit up, my heart beating eraticaly. I look around the white room I'm sitting in and see a heart monitor going crazy, and notice someone slouched in the chair next to my bed. "Hello Alexis, I'm Dr. Johnson and it seems that... you were hit by a car. Do you remember any of this?" She says looking through he clip board. "I, uh remember falling on the ground... and that's it." She looks satisfied with my answer, as she goes to look through the IVs hooked up to my arm. "Uh, Dr. Johnson right?" I ask unsure. "Yes dear?" She says going over to the monitor. "Could I get some water please?" I ask quietly.

"Of course, I'll go get that and be right back." She says walking out and quietly shutting the door. I slouch back against the pillows and sigh quietly, wincing at the soreness in my throat. I see a little part of a white bandage sticking out from under the blanket, so I pull the blanket away from my legs. Instantly regretting it, my right leg has a cast from my foot to the middle of my thigh. What have I done to myself? A trail of silent tears run down my cheeks, while I pull the blanket back over my legs. "Your awake!" The slouching figure next to my bed says sitting up and stretching. "Hey, hey, hey don't cry please." The voice says, which I know is Calum's as he reaches over and wipes away the tears. I hear the chair slide across the floor and feel his hands softly move my head against his chest.

I grab his shirt in my fist, trying not to cry out. "I'm afraid you're going to pull away from me. Or run again, like you did last night. Please don't, I need you. I know it doesn't seem like it sometimes, but I do. And so do your parents, sisters, and our friends. We all need you baby." He says. I hear him sniffle and a feel a tear drop fall on my head. I release his shirt, reach up, and grab his face in my hands pulling it down to meet mine. He watches my eyes intently, before slowly leaning down to meet my lips the rest of the way. I close my eyes and let all of my emotions run ravage in my body. The tears start running down my cheeks again. I pull away from Calum's warm, and comforting embrace, to roll over as best I can on my side. I rub at my eyes furiously hoping to stop the tears.

I hear him sigh and the tears fall faster knowing I've hurt Calum once again. "I'm sorry, so sorry Calum. I'm not trying to hurt you, I don't know how to stop hurting you. I love you, I love you so fucking much it hurts. I'm hurting myself right now, because I know I'm hurting you, and I don't know how to not hurt you." I say, at the end my voice a hoarse whisper. I turn and look at him, "You hurt me, emotionally. I told you why I always call my mom and you just went and said that. I don't need you reminding me how annoying I am. I already know that. If I have to, I'll move back to the states." I say not speaking above a whisper, my voice getting even quieter.

By the end of my rant, Calum's face was one of shock. "You can't be serious Alexis. Move back to the states? No, you can't. I didn't realize what I had said until after I said it. Alexis I'm sorry. So sorry for making you feel like that's the only way out." He finishes just as Dr. Johnson walks in with a cup of ice and a bottle of water. "Here ya go, sweetheart. Your friends are waiting outside, would you like me to send them in? Only one at a time though, so you don't stress too much." She says setting down both the cup and bottle on the tray next to my bed. "Yes please, that would be great." I tell her grabbing the bottle and pouring some in the cup before talking a long drink. "Okay dear, just have this young man send who ever you would like in next." She tells me before leaving the room.
