It was going to happen, just like in the train. The screaming from outside increased in volume. One after the other, the citizens fell. Coughing, gagging, all choking on blood and vomiting it out all at the same time. The whole process looked painful as living hell and I couldn't bear to watch.

"Russel? What's going on?" Connor asks.

"No time, we have to get somewhere safe." I looked back at Mr.Santoro who had followed the same events as everyone else. The whole class stood mesmerized by the ordeal. There was screaming as Mr.Santoro fell over, trying to grab anything to support him from falling. He reached for anything on his desk sending his papers and everything on it flying in all directions.

Doors flung open, and flurries of footsteps could be heard from the hallway. There was screams and yells for help and the hallway couldn't be seen. It was completely full of people running.

"What do we do?"
"What the fuck is going on?"
"Do we..get help?"
"I'm out."

And with that the classroom door flung open and Shane ran into the crowd and was lost in the swarm. My classmates watched and then looked back to Mr.Santoro.

"Connor. Now." I demanded.

I wasn't going to leave him behind. He looked back at the rest of the class who were all huddled around Mr.Santoro. Then he moved a bit and slowly stood back up. Connor looked back at me and nodded.

Connor wasn't an idiot. One of the smartest people I know, actually. There was this certain way that Connor carried himself that had drawn me to him. He was brave, one of the only kids who had refused to take shit from the teachers which admittingly had landed him in detention but we don't have to talk about that.

"He's moving!" I heard as I darted into the hallway with Connor's grip sure to leave a bruise on my skin. The crowd was relentless, with the entire school in the cramped hallways. I didn't know where I was leading Connor, but I knew it would be as far as possible from others.

It was impossible to tell what direction I was going with every single person shoving me as I struggled to squeeze through. It was claustrophobic with no breathing room and even though I felt his hand holding mine, I checked back every few seconds to see that he was still there.

"Russel, where are we going!?" Connor asked.

I didn't know. There was an especially loud shriek and there, on the floor, was one of the freshman being eaten by dozens of seniors. The crowd pushed to one side of the hallway, trying its best to get as far as possible from the swarm. I froze for a second, no, less than that, as the hundreds of kids made sure I was in constant movement by practically carrying me in the tidal wave of people.

"What the fuck?! We have to help him!" Connor yelled at me, but not only we're we far too gone, but so was he. There was nothing left of the kid. He has stopped screaming for help and was just a face in a stiff position as eveything inside of him was overflowing onto the ground with the seniors eating at him.

I pushed my feet to run even faster. We had to get out of here. I had realized that we were on the left side of the school. I was lost. I rarely came to this side of the school due to my classes being on the other sections. I saw familiar faces and not so familair faces as they all ran past me to the nearest exits. The screaming grew increasingly louder with every second and the crowd kept correcting the direction they were going in.

"Come." And with that Connor tugged me towards the nearest double doors. But moments later he stopped and stumbled back. "What happened?" The crowd had stopped and suddenly they began running towards us. It was a domino effect. Unsuspecting people began falling to the floor. One after the other they hit the ground as the students tried to continue. There were pleas for help and screams of agony as hundreds of students stepped on and crushed the people under them.
