Possibly trigger warning

Last Time on Mashton's Kids:

Ashton doesn't want to get a divorce, he loves Michael, and he loves Calum and Luke.

"You know what, I'm done. This family's stupid..."

"I... I just closed my eyes for a little, and then... I had a bad dream, and started screaming."

"Don't you dare turn this around on me, don't you dare say that. If we do get a divorce I'm going to make our kids hate you. You're the one that cheated, and you're the one that hit Luke."

"Don't give me that pathetic, innocent look, you know what you did, you promised Luke you'd pick him up after school so the two of you could go bowling. Luke was waiting outside the gates for you, and you never showed up!"

"You've upset the boys' too much, now just go..."

Chapter Thirty-Two:

Ashton stood there, dumbfounded. He never thought Michael would actually say those words to him. His throat closed up on him as tears threatened to fall.

"Bab-"

"Leave!" Michael boomed. He couldn't take the sad, lost, look in Ashton's eyes. If he didn't leave soon, Michael wouldn't be able to let him go. He still loved the man with all his heart, but his sons couldn't stand Ashton.

"L-Lukey?" Ashton muttered. "Lukey, baby boy... I love you. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to... I didn't mean for... You don't deserve me, I'm sorry."

Luke kept his eyes glued to the floor so he wouldn't have to look at his father. Much like Michael, he wanted to forgive the man.

"Calum-" Ashton started.

"Shut up!" Calum spat. "Why won't you just leave? You're making this worse for everyone! Go f*ck that wh*re you cheated on Daddy with. I don't care. Stop hurting my family!"

Ashton was shocked by Calum's statement, but he was starting to act like the rock for Michael and Luke. He was just like Ashton hoped he would be. Strong and independent.

Sighing, Ashton agreed. "I'll be at my mother's for a little while. I'll call Friday, Michael." Michael nodded and watched Ashton drive away, leaving all his possessions at the house.

Luke started crying silently as his father left.

"Lukey-" Calum hugged the blonde and ran his fingers through his thick blonde hair.

"Why can't he stay!? Why did you make him go!?" Luke sobbed and gis Calum's chest.

"He kept hurting you, Luke!" Calum reasoned. "Nobody but me gets to hurt you!"

Michael just stared at his sons as his mind started thinking. Did he really just throw out the only man he's ever loved? His chest hurt at the thought.

Eventually Luke gave up his fight and let Calum sooth him to sleep on his lap.

Michael hurried to his room. Out of his frustration he tossed everything on the dresser to the floor. He heard cologne bottles break. The sound of glass hitting the floor made him break out of his daze.

Michael rushed to the bathroom and threw up. He felt terrible, alone, sick, scared, anxious. His mind swirled and he ended up sobbing for the rest of the night.

Calum made Luke dinner. The blonde could hardly eat. He felt just plain tired.

"Lukey, please eat a little."

"Tomorrow," Luke bargained.

"Now, Luke." Calum said sternly. The blonde simply pouted.

"I'm not kidding, Luke."

"I'm just not hungry-"

"The last time you ate was at school. I don't even know if you eat at school. I was only there today because I'm a teacher's aid on Tuesdays. Now eat!"

Luke felt like crying again. He knew what Ashton did was bad, but he needed his dad. He needed to cuddle with Ashton and tell him about his day.

Calum got fed up with Luke. He forced him over his lap like he remebered Ashton doing and smacked his jean-covered bum.

Luke gasped. "You can't do that!"

"Watch me," Calum growled and smacked him harder over his jeans. Luke kicked and cried out.

"Oww! Calum no! This is abuse!"

"How am I abusing you?" Calum asked to entertain Luke's idea.

"It hurts..." Luke muttered quietly.

"Good. I'm doing it right then. You have twenty more and then you need to eat, Lukey."

The blonde let out a shaky sigh. Since Ashton left everything seemed to be going wrong. Calum never spanked him before, Michael never hid in his room before, he's never felt so scared before.

Suddenly, Calum was tugging Luke's jeans down his legs. The blonde huffed in frustration, he couldn't fight Calum off. Calum was older and stronger.

"Owwwwie!" Luke sobbed. When he had his jeans on it didn't really hurt. Calum was quick to pull his jeans back up and hug his crying little brother.

"You're okay, Lukey. It's over now." Calum tried to soothe him. Luke shakily wrapped his arms around Calum.

"Hey, if you want Niall can come over tomorrow. I'll talk to daddy about it okay?" Calum tried. Luke nodded against his chest. The older of the two placed Luke back in his chair. The blonde didn't put up a fight as he ate his food quietly.

Calum decided to go check on Michael who was acting odd.

When he found knocking on his door didn't help he barged in.

"Daddy?" Calum hurried to comfort Michael who was sobbing into a pillow on his bed.

The two didn't say anything as Calum rubbed Michael's back trying to calm the older male.

"I don't know what to do... We don't have enough money, and I haven't been alone in years. I- Don't tell anyone about this Calum. I can't live without Ashton. I wouldn't be alive if he didn't come along. I would be six feet under. I wanted to overdose."

Calum was speechless. He had stopped rubbing Michael's back and only stared at his dad. He wouldn't be born if it wasn't for Ashton. Michael would be dead. They can't afford the house.

"It's okay, Daddy. I- I won't let anything happen. Maybe, maybe Ashton will shape up. Maybe we can be a family."

Michael smiled slightly at his words. "If anything happens, protect your brother and stay safe."
