So sorry for the extremely late update!!!
It felt like forever, but that weekend was the neighborhood barbeque. Calum and Luke had been excited to see some of their friends, especially Niall and Liam. Ashton and Michael had probably the most food in their driveway. The neighborhood elders all gathered around to gossip.
Everything was going smoothly until Ashton spotted Zayn and Louis, Liam's parents. He needed to have a talk with them about the boy. Michael also noticed where Ashton's eyes were. "Love, just leave it. The boys are having a good time."
Ashton sighed, "fine, but I'm getting his number."

"Lukey, c'mon they won't notice you're gone! I wanna show you something, please?" Luke looked at Niall and gave in. Niall happily took his hand and led him to a path he found near the river. The whole time Luke swung his arm carelessly as Niall gripped his hand.
The further they walked the more nervous Luke became, but Niall was confident in himself and what he had planned for his lover.
