This chapter is kind of meh, in my opinion.
It was so easy. Calum felt like that whole scenario should have been much more dramatic. Instead, he walked into the house, went upstairs, and set his weed under his pillow. Nobody noticed. He felt successful, but also, sort of displaced.
Ashton was raging to Michael about how furious he was with Zayne. "I don't want Luke around Zayne or his kids. We should move!"
"You're being overdramatic. You had it coming anyway, Zayne had a right to be angry with you." Michael replied.
"We could move to Europe."
"Oh, stop." Michael rolled his eyes at the older man while he flipped through channels on the television. Calum came down the stairs, and his parents were suddenly suspicious of his disappearing acts.
"Where we're you, young man?" Ashton asked, sounding more fatherly than he had in a long time. Calum felt his palms get sweaty. They don't know... Calum thought to himself.
"I was just with my friends." Calum answered coolly.
"Doing what?" Michael prodded.
Don't lie to them. They already know! "Are you interrogating me? I am an innocent kid, and I can't even leave the house without this good cop/bad cop act! Jesus Christ!"
"We're not interrogating you, honey. We just wanted to know. Please tell us before you leave, okay?" Michael spoke softly as if trying to calm a hurt child. Calum nodded his understanding and rushed back to his room.
"He's up to something. I bet it involves those neighbors boys too!" Ashton exclaimed, feeling more frustrated with Zayne. "I don't want Luke around Niall."
"Ashton, stop. You're the one being ridiculous," Michael scoffed.
"I'm going to go give Zayne a piece of my mind."
"And get spanked again?"
"Fúck you," Ashton paused, "Zayne's a díck."
"Ashton," Michael laughed, "you're a díck too."
Ashton was tired of his husband's jokes. He retired to his bedroom for the rest of the night. Michael and Luke decided to watch some movies together for the remainder of the night. Michael was going to make sure Ashton let Luke see his boyfriend. Niall is responsible and it's not like pregnancy is something they have to worry about with the two boys.
Calum was in his room playing around with the weed he acquired not too long ago. He thought it looked a bit different than weed he had seen online, but he didn't question it too much.
How could Calum have known his dealer sold him laced weed that would send him to the emergency room?
The tan boy decided to try out his jackpot. And everyone in the house was aware of it. Calum didn't think about the strong odor the substance would give off, causing both of his dad's to easily identify the weed.
"Calum?" Ashton began knocking on the bedroom door, but when Calum didn't answer he barged in. Upon hearing a loud noise, Michael followed. Calum was on the floor shaking and crying. "Shit." Ashton muttered, "shit."
Michael tried to hold the shaking child so he wouldn't hurt himself. Luke stood in the doorway, watching the horrendous scene play out before him. "I have to get him an ambulance, Michael."
"Okay."
"They'll know it's weed, Michael."
"So?! Just call!" Michael screamed, not thinking in his panicked state. Ashton quickly dialed, an operator let them know am ambulance would be coming soon.
