"You know what? I'll leave you two to get ta know each other," I say, leaving Jack and Spot. "I's goin' ta Harlem,"

"Kenny, I-"

"No, don't tell me not ta go, Jackie. I's goin',"

I walked out of Kloppman's just to be pulled back.

"Why's ya goin' ta Harlem?" Spot asked.

"Jealous, are we?"

"I don't want ya wanderin' around fa nuttin',"

"Uh huh. I's goin' ta make out with 'im," I start to walk away, turning slightly to see his reaction. His eyebrows are furrowed. I laugh.

"Spot, ya know I only got eyes for you, and lips as well," I puckered my lips, and he sighed, pecking them.

"You can prove it ta me lata'," He says with a wink.

"You pig. See ya," I walked off, swaying my hips a little just 'cause he's watching. I laugh to myself and start to walk towards Harlem.

As I was turning the street, a pair of hands grabbed me, then I saw black.

"You sent a spy on Kenny?" Jack asked.

"Yeah,"

"Don't trust her?"

"I do, but I wanna make sure she's safe," Spot insisted.

"Well, she ain't gone to Harlem," Hack said.

"What?!" Both boys yell.

"Skiddy says he ain't seen her. Ace is already lookin' with Peak."

"No, I know who's got her," Spot said, standing up.

"Who?" Jack asks, standing up as well.

"John Luciano,"

"Well, well, well." A gruff voice said to me. "Look who I have,"

"I's sorry, I don't know ya. You got the wrong person," I say, scowling.

"You are Kendall Sullivan, correct?" He says. "The key to finding my son,"

"What do I got ta do with it?"

"You see, dear Kendall, if I have you, I have him. He'll come looking for you in a heartbeat. His precious girl," He ran a hand down my cheek. I struggled under the ropes, squirming at his touch.

"Now, it's only a matter of time."

"You underestimate Spot," I growl. "He'll get out of this,"

"I've been searching for sixteen years, he won't get away this time," He says. "Or, we can speed this up. Do you know where he is?"

"No,"

"Maybe I should ask again." He takes out his knife, and slides it against my wrist. "Do you know where he is?"

My wrist starts to bleed immediately, but I shake my head.

"Spot isn't worth all this pain, dear Kendall." He presses the blade on my skin. I muffle a scream, shaking my head.

"Hasn't anyone ever told you not to handle a lady like that? Where are ya mannas', fadda'?" I heard. Everything inside me started to scream happily. He did always have impeccable timing, one of the things I loved about him.

"Ah, it's about time," Luciano started. "Come to see the show?"

"The only thing I came ta do is save me goil," He says. "You's an added bonus."

"Hey," Someone whispered in my ear. I felt my hands be freed from the ropes. I turned my head to see Jack. I hugged him, and turned back to Spot.

"It's a shame I didn't finish you like I finished your little newsie," Luciano sneered.

"The only thing gettin' finished here is your tormentin'," Spot whistled, and three newsies who's faces I couldn't make out, popped into the dark room. Behind them, two Bulls was waiting.

"Freeze!" One of the Bulls yelled, and Luciano eyes shot towards Spot, who had a smirk present on his lips. "You're under arrest,"

Luciano tried to run for the door, but he was blocked by none other than Wiz, Wilde, and Johnny. Three of Spot's biggest newsies had tagged along to help out, eh?

"You'll pay for this, you little-" Luciano took out his knife, and flung it towards me. Someone pulled me out of the way, but they weren't quick enough.

A burning sensation filled my shoulder as I soon came to realize the knife had sliced it. I clutched my shoulder, and I clenched my teeth.

"Kenny!" Jack started for me as Spot lunged at Luciano.

"Lemme at 'im, ya lousy bastard son of a-"

"Spot, calm down," Wait, when did Bucky come in? He held Spot's shoulders as the Bulls dragged a struggling Luciano out of the room.

"We need to get her shoulda' fixed," Jack held my hand as I clasped mine over my bleeding shoulder.

"That son of a bitch," Spot growled, walking over to me. "You alright? Come on, let's get outta here,"

He put his arm around my waist, and led me out of the abandoned building. Jack followed closely behind, walking with Bucky. The other three were behind them.

I hissed and swatted Spot's hand away as he pressed a hot wash cloth onto my shoulder.

"Come on, Kenny, it'll help,"

"It hurts,"

"Yeah, I know. You gotta do it anyway," He gently cupped my face, and pressed the wash cloth again. The warm water and pressure helped stop the bleeding. David had gotten some bandage wrap from Sarah, and wrapped it under my arm pit and around my shoulder.

"I's so sorry ya got hurt," Spot took my hand. "It's my fault,"

"No, Spot, I's the one who was stupid enough ta get caught,"

"I's just glad you's safe,"

I hug him as he wraps his arms around my waist, burying his face in my hair. My hands rest on his back, and I lean my head on his.

"Who knew the life of a newsie was so dangerous?"

"Uh, me, that's why I didn't want her ta meet ya, Spot." Jack says. "No offense,"

"None taken."
