If someone were to ask Alissa how long she had been lying in her bed, she wouldn't have an answer. The popcorn on the ceiling had started to blur and everything around her was a whirlwind.
She popped out of her haze when there was a knock on her bedroom door. The door slowly opened. Catherine was holding a plate of food and a water bottle.
"Hey, sweetie. How're you holding up? I brought you some dinner. I'm not going to let you fall into a pit without a full stomach."
Alissa slowly sat up to Catherine handing her a plate with two slices of pepperoni pizza. She placed the water bottle on the cream nightstand then sat down next to her on the bed.
I bet Marc was eating pizza now, Alissa thought.
"I also picked up a pint of Ben & Jerry's half-baked on my way home."
Alissa hugged her, "Thank you, Cat. You're the best."
Alissa might have messed up her love life, but it was reassuring that she wasn't truly alone in the world... She had her friends who loved her, mistakes and all.
