"So do you know if it's a boy or a girl?" Niall asked.
"No, I wanted it to be a surprise," I said placing a hand on my stomach.
"Thought of any names yet?" he asked, leaning back in his chair. I liked this, just talking to Niall with out the yelling or the crying, just a normal conversation like old times.
"Well I was thinking for a girl Elizabeth," I said, smiling. I was really hoping I would have a girl, but I didn't really care. I would love this child no matter what.
"What about a boy? Niall junior?" he said winking. I giggled.
"No I was thinking Harry," I said jokingly.
"Oh please do not name our child Harry!" he said, laughing.
"Maybe Liam then? Liam Niall Zayn Louis Harry Horan?" He laughed.
"That's a lot of names to yell when you're angry." I laughed at him. Whenever I was angry at Niall I always used his full name. "Do you still talk to the boys?" he asked.
"Ya," I said quietly, being reminded of the phone conversation I had with Harry yesterday. I assumed that I didn't come up in conversation that often and that's why Niall didn't know if I talked to the boys.
"Do you have a ultra sound picture?" he asked.
"Ya of course I do. I'll go get it," I said standing up. I walked over to the living room and grabbed the picture that was sitting on the coffee table. I came back in the kitchen and placed it on the table in front of Niall. I stood beside him as he lifted the picture up. The widest smile formed on his face. The one that I saw on my wedding day, the one I saw when I said yes to his proposal. I watched a glistening tear run down his cheek.
"That's my child," he said, running his fingers across the picture. "Our child," he said looking at me. I couldn't help but smile at his joy. He gently placed his hands on my stomach. "I promise I will be here for you, no matter what," he whispered. I wasn't sure if he was talking to me or the baby. Then I thought about it for a minute. How was he supposed to be here? He lives in London and I live here.
"But Niall, I just don't know if that's possible," I said.
"I don't care, I'll make it possible."
"What about Katelyn?" I asked.
"If Katelyn really loves me she'll understand," he said standing up.
"I hope she does. I'm happy for you Niall," I said. Of course it was kind of a lie. But I loved Niall enough to let him be happy.
"Thank you Is, that means a lot to me," he said.
"Did you happen to bring those papers?" I asked. If I wanted my child to have the best parents I knew I had to sign those papers.
"Ya I do," he said. He walked over to his jacket and pulled out folded up papers from his pocket. He came back and placed them down on the table, smoothing them out. I grabbed a pen from the nearby counter. Niall stood there and watched me. He held his hands in behind his back and rocked on his toes like he was a little kid trying to contain his excitement.
Ok Isabella, you can do this, it's what he wants, I told myself. I swallowed the lump in my throat and put the pen to paper. You can do this Isabella, I thought, you may not want to but you have to. I-s-a-b, come on your almost done, you can do it, I told myself. E-l-l-a H-, I can't do this.
I started to feel the tears fall from my face.
"Isabella?" Niall said. I quickly signed the rest of my name and picked up papers giving them to him.
"Just go Niall," I said, trying to choke back the tears. He stared at me in shock.
"I thought you said you were happy for me?" he asked. It was silent for awhile. I wiped the tears from my face.
"Well I lied."
"Why, Isabella why?" he asked.
"I signed the papers for you Niall isn't that enough?" I cried.
"No, because I still care you about you!" he said his voice getting loud.
"I never wanted this ok?! I just can't picture you with someone other than me! You promised me forever and now I'm signing forever away!"
"We were young and foolish-"
"Don't pull that bull shit with me! We knew exactly what we were getting in to," I said in anger.
"You are right, I knew exactly what I was doing and I shouldn't have made a promise I couldn't keep," he said, his voice soft.
"You know what's so ironic? I remember your manager telling me a long time ago that I should just dump you because in a couple of years you would move on to a model who's more pretty, more rich and more famous then me. And that the world would just forget all about Isabella. I thought we would prove him wrong, but we just ended up proving him right."
"That has nothing to do with this."
"I just don't understand. I don't understand how you can forget about me so quickly. How you can move on to some one else. How you chose her over me," I said, my voice faint.
"It's because you forced me too!" he yelled.
"Do you really love her Niall!? Do you look at her the way you used to look at me?! Is she the one person you can't live with out?! Is she your forever? Can you imagine what your life was like before her?! Do you think of her constantly and want to spend every minute with her?!"
"Yes!"
"No because if that was true you wouldn't have taken these papers and left already, excited to give her the news but you are here with me!"
"What do you want to hear Isabella?!"
"I don't to hear anything! I just want the old Niall back! I just want everything back!"
"Well you can't have everything back. The past is the past and sometimes you just have to let it go," he said. He pushed by me and grabbed his coat throwing it on. He hastily out his shoes on and opened the door.
"Niall," I made one last plea. He turned his towards me.
"Is she your princess?" I asked choking on the words. He opened the door and left. No reply. No answer. No hope.
