Dan's POV:

I wonder what they were talking about I muse, staring at Phil's shocked expression and Robin's blush.

"We were just discussing books." Robin says and gladly accepts her hot chocolate, thanking me and blowing softly on it before taking a sip.

"Dan, Robin's read Shakespeare plays, how crazy is that?" Phil says breathlessly, and I nearly choke on my drink.

"Seriously? You're, like, 13 right?" She nods shyly and a small smile plays at her lips.

Jesus...

I must've said that out loud because Phil nods in agreement and we easily slip into conversation with Robin, discussing books and drinking our hot chocolates as they turn from piping hot to lukewarm to cold, forgotten in how caught up in conversation we are.

Clicking the home button on my phone, I realise that we've been here for almost two hours.

"Shit!" I exclaim, which earns me a light smack on the arm from Phil.

"Oh yeah, I'll probably have to try to swear a little less now, won't I?" He nods.

"Oh well, I'll try. No promises. Anyways, we've been here for nearly two hours guys!"

Phil huffs, then shakes his head softly and giggles. "Oops."

"You wanna start heading home? We'll be able to catch the tube in fifteen minutes if we hurry now." I ask Robin.

She agrees and we all stand up, disposing our cardboard cups in the recycling bin and I grab the handle of her suitcase.

Exiting the store, we quickly make our way down the streets, eventually making our way to the familiar station that leads to the tube. Pulling out my Oyster card, I turn and see that Phil has done the same, but Robin stands awkwardly.

"You don't have an Oyster card, do you?" I ask, stating the obvious. She shakes her head.

"Well, we've still got a little time and this'll only take a minute, I'll go grab one for you now."

She thanks me quietly and I give them a quick smile before striding towards the large counter where cards are bought and money is deposited into them.

A blonde receptionist smiles warmly at me, and I request a regular Oyster card with £40 of travel money. She types away at her keyboard, accepts my notes and a few short minutes later, she asks me "snakes or penguins?" I decide on penguins and she hands me a shiny new card.

Looking at the card, I notice it must be a new design, limited edition. It's blue and has cute penguins printed across it, playing in snowflakes. Grinning, I clutch it in my hand and return to Phil and Robin.

I hand the card over to her. She examines it and smiles in amusement.

"Thanks Dan, I love penguins, how did you know?" she questions. I shrug in answer.

"You look like the type to, I suppose." I answer simply. She smiles again and thanks me.

I lead the way and we each walk through the little checkout-sort of thing, scanning our cards and then boarding the tube.

I hear Phil and Robin making quiet conversation, and take a moment to reflect.

I still can't quite believe it, it really hasn't sunken in yet. We're starting a family, we have a daughter and we're fathers. I could burst with excitement, but decide that it's probably not a socially acceptable thing to do publicly.

Finally, we reach our station and exit the tube. Stepping out into the street near our apartment building, we walk to our building in comfortable silence.

We show Robin the entrance and lead her up the stairs, unlocking our flat and stepping inside.

"Just come up these stairs and we'll show you around." I say.

"Here's the lounge room, it's where we do our... lounging?" Phil says uncertainly. She giggles at his choice of words.

I show her to her room, which we renovated from the upstairs office. Setting down her suitcase, we quickly give her a tour of the rest of the house and leave her to settle in her room.

"We're just going to go grab some food from the store down the road, are you ok here for ten minutes or so?" Phil asks.

Robin nods her head, smiling.

"I'll be fine guys, go ahead. I'll just unpack a little if that's ok?"

Phil assures her it's fine and shows her the wardrobes and closet we bought for her.

"So I guess you'll need a toothbrush, hair brush, shampoo and all that jazz? We'll pick you some up from the shops, be back soon!"

And so we leave, grabbing keys and our phones, leaving mine at home in case she needs to call for any reason, and we're out the door, leaving Robin alone in the apartment.

So... This chapter was a bit short and shit, I know, and I promised it would be up three days ago... Sorry. I went to a wedding and had a heap of stuff on, but I hope I'll be updating more regularly now, I'm enjoying writing this story. Anyways, don't forget to vote and comment if you enjoyed, feedback is always awesome :) until next time *throws smoke bomb and runs away*
