3. The Prophecy
Walking back to the mountain of the school makes me feel nervous, excited and intrigued - all at the same time. I started to wonder what this prophecy was all about. It made our parents give us away and hide us for 17 years. What could possibly make them do that? I mean, they're Greek gods for heaven's sake.
Aside from the mixed emotions that I'm feeling inside our servants also have to stay back because they're not allowed when the vision of the Oracle is being said. Perseus said only the students are allowed to hear the vision of the Oracle.
"You girls are quiet." Perseus commented on our silent treatment towards him.
Instead of agreeing or disagreeing on his comment we continued being silent. I guess you could say that all of us are just unsure of what will happen when we meet the Oracle.
Perseus didn't talk much after that too. I think he understands that after everything we've been through we just want some silence before the big reveal comes.
Finally we reached the Oracle's Mountain and we started walking a little bit in the forest until we stop on a certain spot.
This certain spot have a huge round and flat stone where the school logo is carved in and placed on the ground as if it's a natural part of the earth.
"An entry to the past and an entry to the future. The present is now. Let me hear the Oracle's vision." Perseus recited, as if reading a poem, towards the rock.
Sophia, Veronica and I looked at each other with questioning looks but none of us have any idea on what Perseus is talking about.
Suddenly the rock slowly rise from the ground to reveal a hatch made of stone and is surrounded by vines then the hatch opened to reveal a space for us.
"Shall we?" Perseus offered with his hand gesturing to the hatch.
We all went in then the hatch closes and after a few seconds it re-opened and we're there. We're in a Greek temple that looked old. There's a fire pit in the middle that's blazing with hot fire and of course there's the famous pillars. The color is like a sandstone or maybe it is sandstone.
"Oracle, show yourself." Perseus ordered and suddenly the fire in the firepit grew larger then a woman suddenly emerges from it. Once the woman was completely out of the fire, the fire went back to normal.
"Perseus, it's been awhile." The Oracle said in a soft voice and she sounded like a woman possessed. You could hear three person speaking in one body. A child, a teenager and an adult. She's also a beautiful lady wearing a white simple greek dress and her hair is braided in a greek way too. Her eyes are gold or in a color of gold and I wonder if that's contact lense or natural. I have a feeling the answer is natural.
"We're here..." Perseus started to say but the multi-voiced Oracle interrupted him.
"I know why you're here." The Oracle said then she looked at us with her golden eyes. "Hello Lexy, Sophia and Veronica." She added, greeting us.
"You know us?' Sophia asked in confusion.
"Oh yes, of course. I've seen you in many of my visions. I've seen your coming before you were even conceived. I've seen you grow before you even turned into a child and I've seen you coming here before you even know who you truly are." She said softly with her creepy, possessed voice.
"Well, it's good to know that there's an effective fortune teller out there." Veronica commented.
"Veronica." I protested as I stare at Veronica in disbelief.
"What? She's an Oracle meaning a fortune teller." Veronica said, sounding as if she didn't say anything wrong. I just roll my eyes at her.
"Yes, you could say I am a fortune teller too but enough about me. You're here for your prophecy and I am here to deliver it." She said then she closed her eyes and all of a sudden the fire behind the Oracle where she came out from grew larger once more. The Oracle opened her eyes and her pupil was gone, it was just a pure white eyes.
