She had spent the last three hours travelling up a highway and navigating her way through a busy city. She had to see him, to make sure he wasn't as bad as everyone else had though he was.
When she finally arrived at the hospital she had spent another hour just making her way through that labyrinth of rooms and hallways. she had asked six different people where to find him but everybody had a different answer.
"ICU is on the second floor."
"Intensive care is in the next building over."
"Hunny, the floor you're looking for is in the building you just came from."
Was there no end to this madness?
Finally, with the help of a kind older lady, she found herself in the blue elevator going up to the fourth floor. The door leading to the ICU rooms was locked and a security guard had to let her in and guide her to room 4130.
The room was dark and the door was shut and she feared he was sleeping but when she opened the door she could see that he was looking at her. but his eyes weren't filled with joy to see his granddaughter, they were confused. he didn't recognize the girl who came into his room and it wasn't until the officer flipped the switch that a switch flipped in his brain and he became happy to see her.
