Star crept through the entangling undergrowth. She had her eyes set on her target. Just a few feet away, Marco strutted like a lottery winner. Or a chicken.

Marco was having another one of his "extra karate practice sessions", but never had Star seen him look so happy about it. Most of the time he was focused, or even nervous, but never so elated.

Then Star saw it. Marco's karate place. And then Marco walked past his karate place without a glance at it. Star gasped.
"He was lying!" She whispered. "But where is he going then?"
Star continued to follow him, but wasn't the super stealth master she thought she was.
"Star. I know you're there. You aren't as stealthy as you think you are." Marco yelled.

Star crept out of the bushes.
"Marco! You lied! You aren't going to karate practice!"
"Yes, I was. But I arrived quite a bit early, and noticed you following me. I was going to the ice cream cart to pick some ice cream up. It's a simple misunderstanding on your part, Star."
Star blushed and crept back into the bushes. "Well, uh, I have to go now. My mirror is calling me. Bye, Marco," Star said bitterly.
"Bye Star."

Marco was her best friend on Earth. She knew she should believe him in her brain, but her heart told her he still wasn't telling the truth. It hurt inside to relize that.

Star sighed, bedraggled and muddy, all the way back to the house, and collapsed upon her clean sheets, getting more mud everywhere. A few lazer puppies jumped on her, not caring how clean she was. Star rolled onto her back and counted the passing minutes.

"Tick, tock. Tick, tock. Tick, tock. Tick, tock,"
Hours passed. Soon it was 8:00. Still no Marco. 8:30. 9:00. Star skipped dinner. Mr. and Mrs. Diaz ate alone. Star finally got up to take a much needed shower. She was smelly, sweaty, and dirty, with more then a few leaves and clumps of mud caught in her hair.

After her refreshing shower, Star heard the door open.
"I'm home!" She heard Marco yell. She relized something weird in his voice. When he talked to her earlier, he had sounded like that too, almost like a strange, distant alien version of himself. Star didn't know what had happened to make him act like that. Maybe she didn't want to know.
A knock on her door roused her from her thoughts.
"Who is it?"
"Me." Said Marco.
"Go away." Star replied.
"Come on Star. Give a guy a break and come talk to me." Marco said, sounding overconfident for some reason.
"Why? So you can tell me off for following you?!" Star shouted. "Just go away. If you were really my friend, you would've told me the truth."
"But I did tell you."
"You sound like someone else now, and I know you didn't tell the truth last Friday. I know it."
"Who knows where I'VE been." Marco said, all too smoothly.
"Exactly! And you won't tell me, which means you don't trust me." Star cried out.
Footsteps told her Marco was leaving. When she couldn't hear them anymore, she collapsed into the covers and cried herself to sleep.

Yay! I dooed it (I know it is spelled weird, but I dont care! Say it out loud!) It was a feels chapter. Lots of feels. More feels to come!!! I will try to post a new chapter every Friday! I was gonna post this Friday, but I couldn't wait!
