Star never left her room anymore after that night. She didn't care if she starved. The only thing she thought or cared about was that she had just lost her best friend forever.

Every night since the "incident" Star had been having the same nightmare. Marco beat upon the glass of a cage, while a strange shadow with no caster observed him, and laughed evily. Every time, Star turned her back on her once friend, and then the Shadow ate him. Star screamed tried to turn back to help him, but he was gone, and all Star could hear was his last scream, so real, and so purely fear that Star had to convince herself it was only a dream.

Often when she woke, her pillow was wet with tears. Her heart always beat at lightspeed when she jolted awake. Every part of her wanted to scream again. Wanted to hug the real Marco. Wanted Marco back. But Marco hated her now.

That night, however, was different. When the Shadow appeared, a person as dark as a starless night crawled out of it. He had a blade sheathed on his belt, and he drew it with an evil grin. The walls that confined Marco disapeared, and the Shadow person walked calmly torwards Marco. Star didn't want to turn away. She wanted to run to him, protect him, tell him everything was ok with her dying breath, but her body wouldn't listen.
"Star! Please! Help me!" Marco shouted in fear and betrayal, but he didn't sound like an alien version of himself. He sounded real.
Star turned at these words, tears forming.
"Marco! Noooo!!!"
The Shadow person drove his black knife deep into Marco's heart, and twisted it murderously. Marco screamed louder than ever, and it sounded so real, so very very real that Star hated herself for turning away.
"It's too late, little butterfly." The Shadow said with a smile, before vanishing.
Star ran to Marco and held him as he died.
"Marco, no." She said softly, crying on to his chest.
"You abandoned me Star. How could you? How could you do this?!" Marco's breaths became labored and shallow.
"I..I'm sorry. I'm so so sorry!" Star sobbed, the words catching in her throat.
"It's too late for apologies Star. Now you're all alone." Marco took in a shuddering breath before his chest went still, his eyes closed, and he became as cold as ice.

Star jolted upright, crying. It was only a dream. Only a dream. She told herself this over and over again, but couldn't convice herself. It felt so real.

Star fled downstairs, still in her nightgown.
"Marco!" She stopped to find him sitting with his parents at the table.
"You finally decided to join us, Butterfly." Marco said this coldly.
Star nodded, ignoring his tone, and sat down to eat her cold oatmeal. She then relized how long it had been since she had last eaten. When she was done eating every last bit, she went back upstairs and curled up under the covers.
"What happened to Marco?" She said, voice wavering.
I was crying writing this. If that last one made Willow cry on the inside, this will make her cry on the outside! ULTIMATE FEELS CHAPTER!!!! DA FEELS ARE REALS PEOPLEZ!!!!!! I decidedto post another chapter because the last one was so short. Plus it's technically Halloween when I'm postin this, and that deserves an extra.
