Just a ghost in the halls, feeling empty
When Tyler took him to art, Dan almost fainted. Dan had always loved art but this was insane. Glass cabinets filled with paints and fresh pencils.
Dan felt like there were so many possibilities. Almost feeling the way the pencil felt in his hand, he walked up to the teacher so he could tell him where to sit.
Dan didn't know what could make this more perfect. Then, he was sat next to Phil.
Ice-y eyes. Dark hair, pale skin.
Ice-y eyes.
Phil didn't look up, as if the most adorable thing he had ever seen was printed on the table.
He looked at this damn table with loving eyes. Loving ice-y eyes. Dan blew out a breath with a sigh ruffling Phil's hair softly.
Phil didn't move.
"I'm Dan." He whispered. He felt like he should be gentle. Like he was handling glass of importance. Like the whole world would crash if he didn't. That's when Talia walked in.
Girls like Talia.
"People call me heart." Phil replied quietly. Phil said this but Dan had never heard a single person call him heart.
"Why?" Dan asked, his fevering curiosity swarming him like bees. Phil didn't reply.
"Dan oh my god what a coincidence!" Talia screeched. Dan heard a chuckle from behind him, only to see Ellie staring at the two. Dan scowled at her. Talia sat down in front of Dan, even though he was 100% sure that wasn't her assigned seat. Her perfect figure, the type you should be in love with, but his eyes always ended up on Phil.
"Talia that was not your assigned place please move." Bingo. The teacher spoke in a monotone voice, borderline boring.
"Students your project is to create a powerful drawing/painting that really represents your darkest emotions. You'll be working in groups of 4." His name was Mr. Drox which, to Dan, was pretty cool.
"I have assigned your groups." Shit. "Talia, Megan, Alfie and Charlie." Dan let out a breath he didn't know he'd been holding. He's not working with Talia.
Girls like Talia. You should be annoyed.
"Tyler, Dan, Phil and Ellie." Dan heard a noise from behind him, when he turned around Ellie hit her head on the table and stayed there.
"Sir, you can't!" Tyler made a protest. What was his problem?
"You really can't sir!" Ellie groaned.
Phil's eyes were wide with panic, he knew exactly what was happening.
"Tough! You're working together and that's final!" His voice boomed over the noise of the bustling classroom, everything went quiet.
"What's happ-" Dan started but Phil cut him off.
"Don't go there." Phil whispered, his lips moving like ocean tides. Driving Dan crazy. No, forget crazy. Fucking insane. And Phil? Well he was completely unaware.
Dan noticed a light smile on Phil's lips, Dan wanted to make it wider, stronger. Yet barely 5 seconds later Dan noticed Phil's smile fade, not completely, like the sun hiding behind clouds. Phil turned to face Dan, staring at him. Dan was expecting words. None left Phil mouth, like someone had physically zipped him shut.
Dan felt like there was a puzzle inside him that Phil was putting together with his eyes.
"Heart?" Dan tried to ask the question 'why' in a different form. Phil's eyes darkened lie storms but not raging, just ominous. Dan was so intrigued by Phil, it drove him crazy.
